Saul follows the money trail and pays $10 million to extricate Brody from Caracas.

Carrie ends up taking the position in Kabul because she isn't allowed to bring her baby -- and she'd rather not take care of her, anyway.

After being forced out of Kabul because of the wedding drone attack she ordered, she blackmails Lockhart into giving her the position in Islamabad.
Taliban commander Haqqani is Carrie's target for the season.
The CIA has a clear shot at Haqqani after he executes Aayan, and Carrie wants to take it even though a captive Saul is there, too. But Quinn overrules her at the last second.

Lockhart fiercely guards the list of assets until Haqqani has a knife to Fara's throat. He gives up the list -- and Haqqani kills her anyway.
"Homeland" takes a detour into Berlin in season 5.
The CIA has offered a regime-change plan to the general, but his plane back to Syria explodes shortly after takeoff.

The Hauptbahnhof -- or main train station -- is the site of the failed attack.
Allison is Ivan Krupin's asset. After they're caught he eventually gives her up, and the CIA assassinates her as she's being transported back to Russia.
