If you were a child growing up in the '60s to early '90s, you know exactly what it means when you hear the expression Saturday Morning Cartoons. Saturday morning cartoons typically aired from 8 a.m. to noon and was the day broadcast stations revealed their latest series episode or newest cartoons. Sundays were left for reruns. By the '90s cable TV and a variety of cartoon dedicated stations, plus prime time animated shows such as "The Simpsons," "Family Guy" and "Futurama" changed all of that and cartoons were no longer just for the weekends but could be accessed anytime and nearly anywhere.Â
