When Acura was first launched in 1986, this was one of only two models offered. The first generation Legend was powered by a 2.5-liter V6 engine. It produced around 150 brake horsepower. One further generation followed before production ended in 1996.

First introduced in 2012, the V40 is a sleek hatchback in the compact car/family car segment. There are 13 models on offer of this vehicle, either with petrol or diesel engines.

Available as both an estate model and sedan, the 850 was one of Volvo's offerings from 1991 to 1996. It offered both front -wheel drive and all-wheel drive models and included two petrol engines as well as a diesel option. A high performance model, the 850 T-5R, produced with the help of Porsche was released in 1995.

The TLX is a mid-sized luxury car and is well priced to compete against its rivals, such as the Audi A6 and the Mercedes Benz E-Class. The TLX comes as both a front-wheel and all-wheel drive, although is let down by run-of-the-mill base engine option as well as having less cargo space than its rivals.

Marketed in the compact segment, this executive car was first produced by Volvo in 2000. The S60 will see a third generation designated as a 2019 model released in 2018.

A compact executive model, the TSX featured as an Acura model from 2003 to 2014. It is sold all over the world with the second generation available as a sedan and station wagon. The top of the range model has a 3.8-liter V6 engine that produces 280 brake horsepower.

Produced for a period of 20 years, the V70 from Volvo was an executive five-door estate car. Three generations were produced with the third including a plug-in hybrid option. The V70 was a Volvo model from 1996 to 2016.

The Vigor was marketed in the United States from 1991 to 1994. It was based on a stretched version of the Honda Accord chassis, although at first, early models were based on the first generation Honda Vigor, a car close to a decade old.

Designed by Italian design house Bertone, the 780 was a two-door coupe produced by Volvo from 1986 to 1990. It was also manufactured in Italy. The top of the range 780 was powered by a 2.8-liter V6 engine.

The 480, produced by Volvo from 1986 to 1995, had a distinctive pop-up headlight in later models. This compact car, a 3-door hatchback, was also the first Volvo model to have front-wheel drive.

The two-door coupe version of the Legend was introduced to the United States market in 1987, a year after the sedan. Its power came from a 2.7-liter V6 engine that delivered 160 brake horsepower. Available as both a sedan and estate car, the 740 was essentially the lower-priced, less trim version of the top of the range 760. As with many Volvo sedan models, it included an estate option. Although fairly bland looking, the 740 was loved for its reliability.

It was only available as a coupe which featured some unique styling when compared to its counterparts in the series.

Part of the Volvo 300 series, the 340 came in the form of a sedan and well as a hatchback. The vehicles were designed by Dutch auto manufacturer DAF, in which Volvo had bought a stake. The 340 had a range of petrol and diesel powerplants. It was marketed by Volvo from the late 1970s until 1991.

Built between 1956 and 1970, the Amazon was one of Volvo's mid-sized car offerings marketed globally. More than 600,000 were produced in those 14 years with more than half exported.

The 2018 Acura is one of the cheapest vehicles in its class. It offers excellent fuel economy but performance wise, it's not that impressive. The entry-level model also has the bare minimum in terms of accessories. Expect 35 mpg on the open road and around 25 mpg in the city.

The 66 was a direct descendant of the DAF 66 and built between 1975 and 1980. Available as a 2-door sedan or 3-door estate, the 66 included the Viromatic, a continuously variable transmission. The cars were​ never popular in Sweden but sold well in Europe.

The popular 200 series from Volvo saw the Swedish company sell close to 3 million cars from 1974 to 1993. The 240 was available as both a sedan and an estate, while a sports saloon, the 240 Turbo, also formed part of the stable. It was based on a Group A touring car that raced across Europe.
