The University of Virginia is home to the Church archive, which includes letters from Alexander Hamilton and Thomas Jefferson, as well as other Church family members.

The university was interested in the letters because of their link to Thomas Jefferson, who founded the University of Virginia in 1819.

That was in a letter from Angelica to her sister Elizabeth, referencing Elizabeth's husband Alexander Hamilton. Whether Elizabeth took it as sisterly banter or something more serious is not known.

The University of Virginia paid members of Angelica's family $275,000 for a series of letters between her and Thomas Jefferson, Alexander Hamilton, George Washington and the Marquis de Lafayette.

As the daughter of a famous Revolutionary War general, she was invited to attend President Washington's inauguration.

The land was located in Genesee and Allegany counties, along the Genesee River in New York.

Angelica is the oldest town in Allegany County, New York.

The stone-and-brick federal-style mansion is known as Belvidere.

The home, built in 1804 from plans attributed to famed architect Benjamin Henry Latrobe, was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1972.

Alexander Hamilton was killed in a duel with Aaron Burr. His son Philip was killed three years earlier in a duel with George I. Eacker.

Angelica passed away in New York City on March 13, 1814, at the age of 58.

The Broadway hit "Hamilton" won the 2016 Grammy award for best musical theater album, a "genius grant" from the MacArthur Foundation and the Edward M. Kennedy Prize for Drama Inspired by American History.

The music is a mashup of rap, hip-hop and traditional Broadway tunes, and none of the actors who play Aaron Burr, George Washington and Thomas Jefferson are white.
