About This Quiz

For people who were there, YTV was a WILD scene in the '90s — the channel's slogan was "Keep it Weird." Green slime, talking TVs, gameshows for children, late-night British comedy and a show that featured a grown woman playing with toy animals for 30 minutes are just a few examples of the regular programming that could be found on YTV at any given time (not to mention the early and vaguely creepy CGI film shorts they used to play at night — "Styro the Dog" anyone?)

YTV offered plenty of Canadian content while also broadcasting Nickelodeon crowd-pleasers such as "You Can't Do That On Television" and "Rocko's Modern Life." Although much of YTV's appeal was rooted in its exceptional programming, it was the hosts that truly made the channel stand out amongst its competitors. The program hosts (or "PJs" as they were called) spoke directly to their audience without pandering or dumbing down their material, a feat that was especially important during an era where being a "latchkey kid" was fairly common.

We want to know all about your '90s childhood: your favourite books and hobbies, your most-loved possessions and what you liked to do for fun. The YTV hosts of the '90s had personalities that, in many ways, matched our own; they were the cool, older sibling we all aspired to be one day.

So get out your Lisa Frank binder, put on some SNAP! and grab a bag of Gushers; it's time to revisit your '90s childhood. Can we guess which PJ you identify with the most?
