About This Quiz
Drag racing isn't always illegal. Across the United States and the world are places where drag racing isn't just legal, it's encouraged. Of course, most of these places are private drag strips, often attached to race tracks, or locations like the Bonneville Salt Flats, where drag racing can be done on flat land that's far from public roads. Of course, not everyone uses these resources. Some drag racers live too far from them, or can't afford the fees to use a private drag strip. To these drag racers, public roads become drag strips. Usually racing late at night, these drag racers use long straights, usually either broad avenues or sufficiently large back roads, as drag strips.
Drag racing goes back to the earliest days of motor sport. Modified cars could accelerate faster, after all; changing an engine for performance was a lot easier to do than improving handling. Thus, drag racing, or racing in a straight line, was far more common among the common racers than Formula One-style racing. Of course, drag racing in the streets is not only dangerous and illegal, but also immoral, as many innocent bystanders are injured or killed when drag racers have accidental collisions. Do you think we can tell if you're one of those folks? Take this quiz and find out!
