About This Quiz

The history of sandwiches is not nearly as clear as you might think. Most people have heard that the sandwich was named after someone called the Earl of Sandwich and that's true, but that's just where the name came from. the idea that he was the first person in history to put some meat in between two pieces of bread isn't as cut and dry as all that. The fact is, people have been enjoying bread with other ingredients on and in it probably as long as bread has existed.  Back in the Dark Ages, they used to serve meals in hollowed-out loaves of bread called trenchers. Flatbreads have been used to hold meats and other ingredients in the Middle East for generations. Really, it's a pretty intuitive thing when you think about it. If you have bread it makes eating other, messier ingredients that much easier. And it's just super tasty. Sandwiches were a brilliant idea, and we're all better for having experienced them.

Because a sandwich can be so versatile and brought together in so many different ways, there are plenty of choices for putting one together, and how you like it is definitely going to tell us a lot about your personality ... maybe even what your favorite NFL team is. Build a sandwich and see for yourself!
