About This Quiz
The modern term "vice" has been said to be taken from the word vicious, which means "full of vices" or "immoral". In Latin, it comes from the word vitium, which means "failing or defect". From the time that the word was created, it has never been used to mean or signify anything good.ÂÂ
Vices are "practices, behaviors or habits which are considered to be immoral, criminal, taboo or degrading in a given society". It is also been called a negative character trait or defect associated with a certain person which they "should" try to refrain or abstain from.
Whether we would like to admit it or not, everyone has at least one vice. The poet Dante Alighieri made a list called the seven deadly vices/sins which includes but are not limited to pride, envy, wrath, gluttony, laziness, and lust. Today, the list of vices has expanded to include gambling, drug and alcohol use, promiscuity and anything that is deemed sinful.ÂÂ
