There is a whole field of science dedicated to studying colors. Colorimetry is the science that studies the human perception of color, so it doesn't study the colors themselves, but more how each person sees color, and how colors as a whole are meant to be seen.

Did you know that there's also a philosophy of color that deals with the dispute of color realism and color fictionalism? There is! The theories of color basically try to determine whether colors are the physical properties of objects, or if they are their own thing with their own properties.

That was a lot of science! Ready for the fun part of color? There are hundreds, if not thousands, of colors and they range from Alien Armpit to Zomp. That isn't even including the Crayola colors, which all have their own names and categories like fluorescent colors, metallic, gemstone colors and so on.

So how does someone pick their favorite color? And especially how does someone choose their forever favorite color? What is it that draws people to certain colors that they want to enjoy as often as possible for the rest of their life? These are all great questions, and we bet we can guess your forever favorite color just by you taking this quiz!

It depends on how big the piece is.

Nah, I usually let it go pretty quickly.

No, that's an absurd way to pick a team.
I'm not big on sports.

It does make watching them easier.

What do you think is the best color for bedding?

Gray and white

I like multicolored bedding, that way it can match anything else.
Dark greens and blues

Can colors make you think about certain things like times in your life or people?

I think they can just as much as music can.

Hm, I think colors are just colors.
I think colors can take you places you've never been.

Colors mostly connect me to feelings, but not ones specific to my life.

Have you always dreamed of a specific color for your wedding dress?

Pale pink is super cute and modern.

Ivory, but not with a sheen to it
Classic, crisp white

I think white but with colorful accents on the train.

Do you like to drink your coffee light in color from milk, or dark as nature intended?

Light from whole milk

I can drink it either way.
I love a little cashew or oat milk.

In your wardrobe, what color appears most frequently?

Black

Neutrals like navy blue
Fall colors like maroon, green and dark tan

Bright colors like pink and yellow

Is there a color that you identify with the emotion "happy?"

Pink, it's just a happy color.

Red like a heart

When you're drinking wine, what color do you prefer?

Rosé

White wine all the way
A good strong red

I'm a sparkling wine person.

Have you ever liked something solely based on its color?

I love jellyfish because they take on pastel hues.

It sounds silly, but the sky.
Giant evergreen trees really speak to my soul.

For some reason, I love little lizards and geckos.

What is your favorite type of food to enjoy on the weekends?

Anything served at brunch

Tacos and margaritas
Homey food like mac and cheese or chicken parmesan

All of the mozzarella sticks

Do you have a lot of plants in your living space?

I have fresh cut flowers.

I like to jazz up my space with art instead.
Oh yes, most of the air purifying ones on NASA's list.

Is there a hair color you've tried that you really loved?

I went trendy gray once and it was awesome.

A deep red, more like auburn

What color was your bedroom growing up?

Purple

Blue
It was pink.

Just white, we had a rental.

Are certain colors limited to certain seasons?

When I think of pastels, I only think of spring.

In people's heads yes, but I don't think in reality.
I think certain colors make people think of certain seasons, yes, but not exclusively.

Oh yes, that's the rule, no white after Labor Day and such.

What would you say is your color code personality?

White, motivated by peace

Yellow, motivated by fun
Blue, motivated by intimacy

Red, motivated by power

Do you have a preference for pen color when writing in your daily planner?

I like classic blue pens.

I have all different colored pens for different things like bills, assignments, celebrations, etc.
Just normal black

I actually prefer a pencil in case things change.

How do you react when you find out someone doesn't like you?

It's okay, you can't please everyone.

I try to find out what they don't like.
I don't care, I'm not for everyone.

Everyone likes me.

Do you wish you could see color when you close your eyes?

It would be nice to see something relaxing, like opal.

Seeing blue like the sky and water would be cool.
I think we see black because we're supposed to.

I've never really thought about it.

How do you think we pick our favorite colors?

I think it's just something in our brains.

Life experiences maybe?
What we're naturally drawn to helps to determine it.

Maybe the things we are surrounded with when we're young determine it for us.

Does food of certain colors turn you off?

Browns foods aren't particularly appetizing.

For some reason, I don't like the color of pancake batter but cooked it's much better.
That weird green that looks like you-know-what.

I'll eat anything.

Do you ever see your forever favorite color changing?

Nope, it's forever alright.

It could, but I can't imagine what it would change to.
No way, it's too deep in me.

Maybe to a very similar color, but that's about it.
