Sandy's telling Danny to get it together and act like a boyfriend when she sings, "You better shape up 'cause I need a man, and my heart is set on you." "You're The One That I Want" went all the way to number one on the Billboard Hot 100.

"She looks too pure to be pink." Rizzo's resistance to officially making Sandy one of the gang comes from an underlying place. Though they are placed at odds for most of the film, towards the end, Rizzo begins to open up to Sandy.

When "Summer Nights" hit the airwaves, it was instantly a success. During 1978, the song went all the way to number five on the Billboard Hot 100. Surely, you've sung it enough to know that Danny and Sandy stayed out until 10 o'clock.

At first, Rizzo is reluctant to welcome Sandy with open arms. She and the other Pink Ladies sing about Sandra Dee while wearing wigs to mock their new Australian classmate. When Sandy asks if she's making fun of her, Rizzo replies, "Some people are so touchy."

After Sandy figures out the sort of game Danny is playing, she confronts him in front of everyone. She boldly says, "You're a fake and a phony, and I wish I had never laid eyes on you." Then, she throws her pom-poms on the ground and storms off.

While on top of his 1948 Ford Convertible nicknamed Greased Lightning, Danny bursts into song about his favorite racer. Towards the middle of the song, he sings, "Go Greased Lightnin', you're burnin' up the quarter-mile."

Rizzo was never one to put up with Danny's nonsense. In a mocking tone, she asks, "Is someone snaking you, Danny?" When he tells her to "bite the weenie," she quips, "With relish."

Principal McGee did her best to steer her more rowdy students in the right direction. From behind her desk, she urges, "If you can't be an athlete, be an athletic supporter." It didn't stop the car racing, though.

While wearing a blond wig, Rizzo makes fun of Sandy by bursting into "Look at Me, I'm Sandra Dee." As she twirls around and struts her stuff, she sings the line, "Look at me, I'm Sandra Dee. Lousy with virginity."

Marty Maraschino is flattered with Vince tells her that she's a knockout. When he asks her last name, she says, "Maraschino. You know, like a cherry." Maraschino cherries are those sweet little treats you often find in drinks.

Rizzo looks at Kenickie and says, "I've got so many hickeys people will think I'm a leper." Kenickie snaps back with the company slogan, "Relax! A hickey from Kenickie is like a Hallmark card."

As Frenchy's frustration with school mounts, an imaginary singer named Teen Angel warns her about her fate in "Beauty School Dropout." He sings, "You think you're such a looker. But no customer will go to you unless she was a hooker."

Sandy feels so strongly about Danny that it makes her break into song. During "Hopelessly Devoted to You," she croons, "I'm just a fool who's willing to sit around and wait for you."

Vince Fontaine is a local announcer who presides over the dance-off. When he takes the mic to talk about the dance contest, he says, "It doesn't matter if you win or lose, it's what you do with your dancin' shoes."

As Danny and Sandy recount their very own versions of the summer's events, they burst into song. The first two lines from "Summer Nights" go, "Summer lovin', had me a blast. Summer lovin', happened so fast."

Sandy is thrilled to reunite with Danny, and underneath trying to impress his friends, he feels the same way, too. Unfortunately, he took it too far when he said, "That's my name, don't wear it out."

After Danny was horrible to Sandy at the pep rally, Frenchy tries to be a good friend when she attempts to comfort Sandy by saying, "The only girl a man can depend on is her daddy." She also says that men are "rats."

Danny and Sandy had different ideas about how to spend time at the drive-in. When he comes on too aggressively, Sandy throws his ring at him and storms off. That's when Danny says, "Sandy, you just can't walk out of a drive-in!"

"I got chills, they're multiplying, and I'm losing control. 'Cause the power you're supplying, it's electrifying." The first line from "You're The One That I Want" grabs your attention and sucks you right in. After its release in 1978, it went straight to the top of the charts.

Everyone who participated in the incident came under fire when Ms. McGee says, "We have pictures of you so-called mooners. And just because the pictures aren't of your faces, doesn't mean we can't identify you." Then, she proceeds to tell them that the FBI is looking into it.

While standing in the restroom, Rizzo tells Marty, "I feel like a defective typewriter." Then, she explains that she's missed a period. Marty swears she'll keep it to herself, but before making it to the parking lot, she lets it slip. The news spreads through the drive-in like wildfire.

Blanche is so excited by the festivities that she says, "When I hear music, I just can't make my feet behave!" Sonny, of course, takes the opportunity to clap back with something funny when he says, "Thinks she's Tinkerbell!"

In Rizzo's sarcastic words, "Good news really travels fast." Rizzo asked Marty not to tell anyone that she's pregnant, but Rizzo lets it slip less than a minute later. The news quickly spreads when Sonny announces, "Rizzo's got a bun in the oven."

During the slumber party, Jan stands beside a small black and white television while she sings the Ipana jingle. The song explains that the 1950s toothpaste is "dandy for your teeth."

Ever the quipster, Sonny chimes in and says, "Let's hear it for the toilet paper!" Even Ms. McGee's reminder that Rydell High will soon be on national television isn't enough to get the rowdy young man to back down.

If you want to know the truth, Rizzo is probably not the person to ask. When Marty wants to know if her glasses make her look smarter, her fellow Pink Lady snaps back, "Nah, you can still see your face."

After a rude exchange between the two, Rizzo asks Danny, "Where are you going? To flog your log?" Danny snaps back, "It's better than hanging around with you dorks."

Throughout the film, the differences between Rizzo and Sandy are pointed out time and time again. It only makes it sweeter when they realize that they actually like one another. But before that happens, Rizzo says, "Oh, this goody-two-shoes makes me wanna barf."

Frenchy always has a unique way of seeing things, and her thoughts about dropping out of high school are no different. She tells Jan, "I don't look at it as dropping out. I look at it as a very strategic career move."

Frenchy certainly has some strong opinions about men! When she's sharing her thoughts with Sandy, she says, "Men are rats. Listen to me, they're fleas on rats. Worse than that, they're amoebas on fleas on rats. I mean, they're too low for even the dogs to bite."

During the slumber party, Rizzo breaks out a bottle of Sneaky Pete. After a little debate over how well it would pair with Twinkies, Rizzo tauntingly says that she's sure Sandy has never had a drink. Sandy counters by saying, "I had some champagne at my cousin's wedding once."

Some of Danny's buddies are less than thrilled to see him falling in love with Sandy. Sonny makes it obvious when he says, "When a guy picks a chick over his buddies, something gotta be wrong."

Slang for pregnant, Marty asks Rizzo, "Think you're P.G.?" Rizzo begs Marty to keep her mouth shut, but Marty can't help herself. As they are leaving the restroom, Marty announces it to the crowd by telling them to get out of Rizzo's way because she's expecting.

Frenchy offers to pierce Sandy's ears at the slumber party, but Sandy isn't so sure it's a good idea. Never one to hold back, Rizzo offers a little advice. "If she screws up, she can always fix your hair so your ears don't show.

When he's in the garage working on his car with the T-Birds, Danny says, "C'mon, guys. Look! This car could be a major piece of machinery." Then he and the guys break into the "Greased Lightnin'" fantasy sequence.
