About This Quiz

Hello, Carbo-Nation! Are you bubbled up and ready to take on the ultimate fizzy-drink quiz? It's time to put your carbonated cap on as we test your skills. Think you have what it takes to recognize these fizzy drinks? Well, let's get started!

First … a quick history lesson! In the early 17th century, scientists were intent to determine why natural mineral water had bubbles. Come to find out, it was because of a gas known as carbonium, or as we know it … carbon dioxide! Since mineral water was said to have medicinal powers, scientists and pharmacists worked over the course of the next century to develop carbonated—or fizzy—drinks that would help cure ailments of the stomach and intestines. But the popularity of carbonated drinks grew outside of medicine, thus beginning the boom of the soft-drink industry as we know it today.

By 1885, the first commercial introduction was made in the United States by none other than Dr. Pepper! From PepsiCo to the Coca-Cola Company, and Dr. Brown's to Schweppes, the fizzy-drink industry has captivated the world. And while fizzy drinks sure extend beyond soft drinks (beer and other adult beverages are in fact 'fizzy!'), we want to test your knowledge of America's top non-alcoholic fizzy brands. Ready to get to it? It's time to quench your thirst and ace this quiz!
