Superheroes cannot exist without their archenemy supervillains, and over the years we have seen our fair share of them. They come from all walks of life and some of them are even alien conquerors and artificially intelligent beings who either want to see the destruction of the world as we know it or want to become the supreme leader by defeating superheroes.Â
For many people, the villains are just as cool as the heroes, and, for some, they are even cooler. Many of them have superpowers and special abilities, secret identities and even secret lairs, the only difference from their superhero counterpart is the direction that their moral compass is pointing.Â

Loki is a fictional character who was created by Stan Lee and first appeared in "Venus #6†in 1949. In the comics, he is the adopted brother of Thor, who was also his rival. In the Marvel Cinematic Universe, he has been played by actor Tom Hiddleston.
Erik Killmonger is a fictional supervillain appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. Created by Don McGregor and Rich Buckler, the character first appeared in Jungle Action vol. 2, #6 in 1973. Erik Killmonger is one of the enemies of the superhero known as the Black Panther. The character was portrayed by Michael B. Jordan in the 2018 film, "Black Panther."

Thanos is a Marvel comic book character who first appeared in "The Invincible Iron Man #55†and has often been called the most powerful villain in the Marvel Universe. He has fought against the Avengers and was portrayed by Josh Brolin in the Avengers films.
Hela is a fictional character based on the Norse goddess Hel. She first appeared in Marvel Comics' "Journey into Mystery #102," where she frequently came into conflict with hero Thor. In 2017, the character was brought to life by Cate Blanchett in the movie "Thor: Ragnarok."
Catwoman, whose real name is Selina Kyle, is one of the archenemies and sometimes love of the Batman. She is one of Gotham City's burglars who is always seen wearing a skin-tight one-piece outfit. On rare occasions, she has been seen helping Batman.

Alexander Joseph "Lex†Luthor is a supervillain who first appeared in "Action Comics #23†in 1940 and is one of Superman's oldest archenemies. He is a wealthy and powerful man who owns LexCorp, and he is intent on ridding the world of aliens like Superman.
Mystique first appeared in Marvel Comics' "Ms. Marvel #16" in 1978, and later in many of the X-Men comics, as well as many of the films. She is a shapeshifting mutant who is often portrayed as a foe of the X-Men and partner of Magneto, but she has helped the superhero group on occasion.
Doctor Octopus, who is also known as Otto Octavius, is a highly intelligent scientist who went mad in Marvel Comics' "The Amazing Spider-Man†series. In both film and the comics, he is obsessed with proving how smart he is, as well as destroying Spider-Man.

The Red Skull, also known as Johann Schmidt, is a supervillain who appeared in many Marvel comic books as the archenemy of Captain America. The Nazi agent was created by Jack Kirby and Joe Simon and has been seen in many television series, blockbuster films and video games.
Two-Face, whose real name is Harvey Dent, is a character who was once a Gotham City district attorney. He was given the nickname after a mob boss threw acid on the left side of his face during a court trial. He later went insane and became one of Batman's main adversaries.

Doctor Victor Von Doom is a supervillain who was first seen in Marvel Comics' "The Fantastic Four #5,†back in 1962. Not only is he the archenemy of the superhero group, but he has also been in conflict with Iron Man, the Black Panther, Spider-Man and the Avengers.

Zoom, who is also known by the name Hunter Zolomon, is a DC Comics character who was the second person to take on the role of Reverse-Flash. In the series, he was the archenemy of Wally West, the third speedster to take up the role as The Flash.
Apocalypse, also known by the name En Sabah Nur, is a supervillain who appeared in the Marvel comics, where he was one of the world's first mutants and an opponent of both the X-Factor and the X-Men. He was the main antagonist in the 2016 film "X-Men: Apocalypse."

The Riddler, also known as Edward Nigma, is a supervillain and antihero. He first appeared in DC Comics' "Detective Comics #140†as a criminal mastermind who incorporates riddles into his schemes. His biggest enemy is Batman.
Ultron is a Marvel Comics supervillain who is one of the most well-known enemies of the Avengers. In the 2015 film "Avengers: Age of Ultron,†he was an artificial intelligence peacekeeping program created by Tony Stark to keep Earth safe, but later concluded that the greatest threat to peace is humanity.

Dormammu, also known as The Dread One, is a character who first appeared in Marvel Comics' "Strange Tales #126†as one of Dr. Steven Strange's enemies. The character, who was banished to the Dark Dimension, was one of the antagonists in the 2016 film "Doctor Strange.â€
The Penguin, whose real name is Oswald Chesterfield Cobblepot, is a supervillain who first appeared in the DC Comic book "Detective Comics #58†in 1941. He is one of Batman's most enduring adversaries and is always seen wearing a top hat, tuxedo and monocle.
