About This Quiz
We get it — math is definitely not an easy subject for many people. There are various types of fractions to work with in the math world, and calculating their decimal equivalents may not be such a breeze. But today, we want to challenge you with your fraction and decimal knowledge. Oh, and try not to use a calculator either!
Fractions may seem scary at first, but they can actually be quite fun to solve, especially once you get the hang of it! Take a relatively easy fraction like 1/2, for instance. Its decimal equivalent would be .50, which means half. Or, how about 1/4, which equals out to one quarter, or .25. You may also have to reduce certain fractions in order to figure out their correct decimal form. For example, the fraction 6/12 can be reduced down to 3/6. We can even simplify this further down to 1/2. But since 1/2 cannot be further reduced, this would be our final answer, which is .50 as previously stated.
There are also more complicated versions of fractions that incorporate large numbers, negative signs and even other decimals! So if you're up for the challenge, then it's time for you to take our fun fraction quiz right now!
If you divide 5 by 10, you'll get .50, which is another way of saying "one half." Here's another way of looking at this — if you take 10 and divide it by 2, you'll get 5, which is exactly half of 10.
Dividing 3 by 4 will equal out to .75. In percent form, this would be 75% because you would move the decimal place over to the right by two places. 3/4 is also a common unit of measurement for baking items.
If you divide 1 by 3, you'll get .333. This is also known as a repeating decimal because the ".333" part goes on forever. There will always be an infinite amount of "3's" after the decimal point.

1/5 equals out to .20, which can also be phrased as 20% because you're moving the decimal place over to the right two times. Some people also write this as ".2" which is the same as ".20."
1/10 is the same thing as .1 or .10. It doesn't matter how you write this either, because there will always be "invisible zeros" after the "1" part. You could even write this as .1000000.
.125 is the equivalent of 1/8. In percent form, this would be 12.5% since the decimal place would be moved between the "2" and the "5" number. You could also write this as .12500000.

2/9 is the same thing as .222. The "2's" in this decimal form actually repeat forever, which is also known as a repeating decimal. For instance, you could write this as .2222222222222222.
If you divide 5 by 6, you'll get .833. But did you know that the "3's" in this decimal form are actually repeating decimals? So you could write this as ".833333333," and it would mean the same thing.
4/5=.80. Here's one way to remember this: 5/5=1, which is the same as 100%. So if 4/5=.80, or 80%, then this difference would be 20%. So when dealing with fractions from 1/5 to 5/5, remember that everything is separated by 20%.

The fraction 3/18 is written as .166, and since the "6" number repeats itself forever, this is also known as a repeating decimal. So, you could write this as .166666, and it would mean the same thing.
Don't let the negative sign scare you, because -2/100 just means -.02. When dividing any number by 100, you're just moving the decimal place over to the left two times. Another example would be 1/100, which is .01.
1000/1000 is the same thing as 1. If you divide any number by itself, you'll always get the number 1. It could even be a really big number like 1,000,000/1,000,000 and you'll still get 1.
