About This Quiz
An insignia is "a badge or distinguishing mark of a military rank, office, or membership of an organization." Almost every country which has a military aircraft and/or an air force, has an insignia. It serves as the official emblem of the organization and it is used to identify the branch of military service which it belongs to. It is typically seen on the sides of the aircraft, as well as the upper and lower wings and occasionally on the fins or rudder.
Most of the insignias which are used are in the form of a roundel, which is a circular disc used as a symbol. Most if not all countries incorporate the colors of their flag (often in concentric circles) into the roundel, and there are a few which include their coat of arms, national symbols, animals and shapes.
How well do you know your military aircraft insignia? If you saw a few of them flying around, would you able to tell which country they belong to? Will you turn out to be an expert on the topic, or will you have to do some more research on the topic? If you would like to find out, then you should take this quiz!
