Can You Name These Sexy Starlets From the Marvel Universe?

Scarlett Johansson plays the Black Widow, who has proved to be so popular she got a solo movie even after her character died on screen. While her movie persona is a bit of a mystery, in the comics the character was supposed to have been born in 1928.

Evangeline Lilly plays Hope Van Dyne, also known as the Wasp. Edgar Wright was the original writer and director of the movie, "Ant-Man and The Wasp," but he quit due to creative differences partway through. After he left, the Wasp gained a much more prominent role in the film.

Natalie Portman played Jane Foster in the first two "Thor" films. She was not part of "Ragnarok" or the "Avengers" films but word is that she returns in "Thor: Love and Thunder" and even takes on the role of Thor herself, which is something her character does in the comics.

Marisa Tomei really broke the Aunt May mold, since the character had previously always been depicted as a much older and often frail woman, like the Aunt May of the original "Spider-Man" film trilogy who is almost 40 years older than Tomei.

Zoe Saldana is no stranger to big action roles. She was in the two highest-grossing movies of all time, "Avengers: Endgame" and "Avatar." She's also been in "Star Trek," "I Kill Giants" and "Pirates of the Caribbean."

Karen Gillan is probably best known for his stint as Amy Pond on "Doctor Who." When she was on that show, directors had to redesign the Daleks for her because she was so much taller than the previous actress who played the Doctor's companion.

Zendaya debuted in "Spider-Man: Homecoming" as a character we thought was named Michelle but then we later find out she's Peter Parker's longtime love Mary Jane Watson. The producers pulled a fast one on the audiences so we wouldn't know right away who the character was.

Peggy Carter was played by Hayley Atwell and is arguably one of the most prominent characters in all of the MCU who isn't actually a superhero. She was so popular she headlined her own TV series called "Agent Carter."

Tessa Thompson took the roe of Valkyrie in "Thor: Ragnarok." Though we only know her character by the name Valkyrie it's actually what she is, not who she is. She was one of many Valkyries, and actually her name is Brunnhilde.

Kat Dennings plays Darcy in "Thor" and is set to reprise her role in "WandaVision." The character was mostly comic relief in the movies and famously mispronounces the name of Thor's hammer as "Mew Mew."

Hela was played by Cate Blanchett, who had to play the character in a motion capture suit despite the fact she doesn't look like a special effect. Hela's body changes shape and size frequently, creating spikes and such, so the actress needed to wear motion capture gear.

Brie Larson took on the role of Captain Marvel. In the comics, Captain Marvel was a man for quite a few years before the character was replaced by a female version. There have been at least nine different Captain Marvels.

Gemma Chan is playing Sersi in the "Eternals" movie. The character has the ability to rearrange matter on a molecular level, including living things. She is a fashion designer in her "normal" life and uses her power to her advantage in that line of work.

Rachel MdAdams played Christine Palmer in "Doctor Strange" but never appeared in the "Avengers" follow ups. Word is she is not going to appear in the sequel to "Doctor Strange" either, meaning she likely won't be back in the MCU ever again.

Lupita Nyong'o took on the role of Nakia in "Black Panther." Weirdly enough, the Nakia character in the comics is actually a minion of Eric Killmonger who goes by the name of Malice. She's a serious adversary of Black Panther.

Linda Cardellini plays Laura Barton in the MCU, wife of Avenger Hawkeye. In one of the comic book storylines, Laura and Hawkeye's children are all killed by a traitor. When Hawkeye tracks the person down, he discovers it was actually Black Widow, who he kills in revenge.

Elizabeth Olsen plays Wanda Maximoff, also known as the Scarlet Witch. When she was introduced in "Age of Ultron," no mention was made of the fact that her character is supposed to be the mutant daughter of X-Men villain Magneto. That was because Fox owned the rights to all mutant characters at the time.

French actress Pom Klementieff plays the character of Mantis in the MCU. The character is actually quite old, first appearing in comics back in 1973. In a very bizarre twist, the writer who created Mantis took her to DC comics where she appeared in the "Justice League," then took her to Eclipse Comics and Image Comics before coming back to Marvel with her.

Gwyneth Paltrow has appeared in numerous MCU films as Pepper Potts, one-time assistant to Tony Stark who becomes the CEO of his company and eventually his wife and mother of his child. In real life, Paltrow makes so many of these movies she forgot she was in "Spider-Man."

Jaimie Alexander played the role of Lady Sif in the first two Thor movies as well as in "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." Many fans were upset that Sif didn't return for "Thor: Ragnarok" but the reason for her absence was a simple one; Alexander was just busy working elsewhere.

Rene Russo played Thor's mother, Frigga, in three different MCU movies including "Avengers: Endgame" after her character had already died. Russo hadn't appeared in a movie for six years prior to making a comeback in the first "Thor" film.

One of the many small cameos in "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2," Mainframe was voiced by Miley Cyrus. In the comics, though this is never mentioned in the movie, Mainframe is actually a futuristic version of Vision.

Laura Haddock took on the role of Meredith Quill in both "Guardians of the Galaxy" films. Weirdly enough, those are not the only MCU appearances she has. Back in 2011, she had a very small role in "Captain America: The First Avenger" as an autograph seeker.

Leslie Bibb played the role of Christine Everhart in the first two "Iron Man" films. Bibb got her Hollywood start thanks to Oprah Winfrey. When she was 16, she won a model search on Oprah's show and that kickstarted her whole career.

Cobie Smuders ha appeared as the character Maria Hill in all four of the "Avengers" films as well as "Captain America: The Winter Soldier," "Spider-Man: Far From Home," and the "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." TV show for several years.

Rebecca Hall was an almost, sorta villain in "Iron Man 3" and the creator of the Extremis virus alongside Killian. The character doesn't make it through the movies and her comic book counterpart lasted a little while longer but not by much.

Laura Harrier played the character of Liz in "Spider-Man: Homecoming." Though she'd had some TV roles and smaller appearances in the past, her role in "Spider-Man" was her first major film role. She went on to star in the movie "BlacKkKlansmen" as well/

Hannah John-Kamen played the villainous Ghost in "Ant-Man and the Wasp." She's becoming a pop-culture tour de force these days with appearances in "Game of Thrones," "Black Mirror," "Ready Player One," and "Tomb Raider" among others.

Liv Tyler took on the role of Betty Ross in "The Incredible Hulk," which a lot of people forget was an MCU film, even though there was a different actor playing the part of Bruce Banner. There are rumors she may return for the Disney+ "She-Hulk" series.

Shuri is like the Wakandan Tony Stark, technologically leaps and bounds ahead of everyone else. She's played by Letititia Wright. When they were filming the movie "Black Panther," she kept her costars entertained by rapping in between takes. Danai Gurira nicknamed her Baby MC Underbite.

The one-time best friend of Captain Marvel Carol Danvers, Maria Rambeau is a pilot and a pretty tough woman in her own right. She's the mother of Monica Rambeau who, in the comics, was Captain Marvel for a while herself. She also goes by the alias Spectrum.

Emily Van Camp plays the role of Sharon Carter. In the comic books, Agent Carter, also known as Agent 13, is a love interest of Captain America and had a relationship with him for many years. This was all downplayed a bit in the movies since we were just meeting the character.

Natalie Dormer, maybe best known from "Game of Thrones" as Margaery Tyrell, and from "The Hunger Games" as Cressida also played Private Lorraine in the first "Captain America." The role was unusually small and she never appeared again.

The golden-skinned Ayesha is a second-string antagonist in "Guardians of the Galaxy" played by Elizabeth Debicki. Aside from Guardians, Debicki has only made one of other sequel in her career and that was "Peter Rabbit 2." She voiced Mopsy in both part one and two.

In the movies, Okoye is played by Danai Gurira and is the head of the Dora Milaje, a kind of special forces team in Wakanda. Gurira is probably best known for her role as Michonne on "The Walking Dead" and several other "Walking Dead" cast are also in the MCU such as Michael Rooker, who played Yondu, and Jon Bernthal, who played the Punisher.

Kerry Condon provided the voice for Tony Stark's Friday, the AI program that replaced Jarvis in the MCU. Condon played Friday in five different MCU films, but when she's not doing that she's best known for period pieces like "Rome" as well as things like "Better Call Saul."

Michelle Pfeiffer plays Janet Van Dyne, mother of the Wasp, in "Ant-Man and the Wasp." Pfeiffer essentially paved the way for women n comic book movies with her iconic role as Catwoman in the move "Batman Returns."

Rachel Weisz is another of the Black Widow crew who trains with Natasha Romanoff, the Black Widow we all know and love. This isn't Weisz's first turn at a comic book movie. She also showed up in the DC movie "Constantine" opposite Keanu Reeves.

Toni Garrn plays the hot and mysterious European seamstress character who gets Peter Parker to undress at a highway stop. That leads to Parker nearly blowing up the entire busload of students when he accidentally summons a drone strike.

When Yondu is honored by the rest of the Ravagers in "Guardians of the Galaxy 2" we're treated to a lot of fun cameos including Michelle Yeoh as Aleta Ogord. No one knows yet if she'll return for "Guardians of the Galaxy 3."
