About This Quiz

What will it be: put aside your annual bonus for a rainy day or blow it on that handbag you've been eyeing in the store window for some time? Should you pass on dessert or indulge in that double chocolate mousse cake because it's Friday and you've worked hard all week?

Life is full of temptations, and we're forced to make choices all day long without giving it much thought. But during this quiz, we want you to focus on the choices you find most appealing. Your answers will help illuminate how you go about making decisions.

We're not saying it's impossible to follow both your heart and your brain, but most people find that one dominates more than the other. Some folks are able to remain logical during emotional situations, while others are highly guided by their emotions.

As we go through this set of "this or that" questions, we'll evaluate your responses and let you know whether it's your brain or your heart that rules the day. There are no right or wrong answers. Just respond honestly. Who knows? You may be surprised by the results!

White bread is delish!

Wheat bread is healthier.

Is Valentine's Day necessary or just a commercialized holiday?

It's a legitimate day to reaffirm my love for my partner.

The real winners of Valentine's Day are the chocolatiers and florists.
It's nice to have a day to up the romance level, but my partner and I set a price limit on gifts for each other.

I'd rather make a bigger deal out of our anniversary.

Would you choose a Taylor Swift or a Katy Perry concert?

I love Taylor Swift!

I would choose a rock concert instead.
it would be cool if they toured together.

Do you read more hard copy books or ebooks?

I love hard copies! There's something romantic about holding the finished product in your hands.

I'll read an ebook if I know there are outlets for me to recharge the device.
Ebooks are better for the environment.

Do you prefer pencils or pens?

I prefer markers.

Pens are more permanent.
Pencils when I'm working on a math problem, but pens otherwise.

I prefer country living.

I'm a big city person.
I like living near the city for work but to have a weekend cabin I can retreat to.

Would you rather spend a day at the spa or the gym?

I tend to prefer the spa.

I wouldn't say that I live at the gym, but I do take advantage of my gym membership.
I'd hit the gym first, then head to the spa for a massage.

I like working out at home more.

Either would be fine with me!

I totally procrastinate.

It depends on the task.

Since I'm my own boss, I set my own schedule. As far as I'm concerned, I'm never late.

The smell of bacon has my mouth watering!

Turkey sausage for me - they're healthier.
Just eggs for me — cooked in bacon fat.

Can I have hash browns instead?

Are you more of a home cook or an executive chef in the kitchen?

I've become quite the chef after years of experimenting in the kitchen.

There's less cleaning up to do if you just order takeouts.
I'm a decent cook, but I prefer to just heat up precooked meals.

I'm pretty good at whipping up something edible using whatever ingredients I happen to have.

Would you binge watch "Friends" or "The Big Bang Theory?"

"Friends" all the way.

I have better things to do.
I'd alternate shows.

I prefer "The Big Bang Theory."

Would you rather play Scrabble or Monopoly?

I prefer Twister.

I'm a beast at Scrabble.
I love that Monopoly requires both strategy and a bit of luck.

"The Game of Life" is the one for me!
