About This Quiz
In every movie, whether it is good or bad, has at least one line which sticks with us either because it was absurdly funny, very well written, heartfelt or badass. Many of these quotes were so iconic that they have gone past their movies and they are used by many different people during their day to day life, and not only as pop culture references.
Many of these movies date as far back to the 1930s and many of the people who use them don't even know where they came from. Some of the most memorable quotes include "fasten your seat belts. It's going to be a bumpy night", "why don't you come up sometime and see me?", "take your stinking paws off me, you damned dirty ape" and "I have always depended on the kindness of strangers."

“E.T. phone home” is a quote heard in the 1986 science-fiction film E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial. The line was heard after E.T. and Elliot used a Speak and Spell toy in order to build a device for the alien to ‘phone home’ because of his declining health.
"Life was like a box of _______________; you never know what you’re gonna get."
The funny but true saying “life is like a box of chocolates; you never know what you’re gonna get” comes from the 1994 movie Forrest Gump. It was said by the title character, Forrest Gump who was played by the actor Tom Hanks.
"To Infinity and _______________."
The quote “to infinity and beyond!” is the famous catchphrase of Buzz Lightyear, one of the main toys in the Toy Story movie series. Throughout all three movies, as well as a spin-off television series, he is heard saying the phrase, particularly before doing something adventurous.
"Frankly, my dear, I don't give a ____________."
The memorable line “frankly my dear, I don’t give a damn” comes from the 1939 film Gone with the Wind, which starred Clark Gable and Scarlett O’Hara and Rhett Butler and Vivien Leigh. It was the last line spoken by Gable to Leigh after she asked him “what shall I do.”

“You had me at hello is a quote which was first heard in the 1996 movie Jerry Maguire starring Tom Cruise and Renée Zellweger. The line was said by Dorothy (Zellweger) in response to Jerry (Cruise) saying “I love you…you complete me.”
"I love the smell of ____________ in the morning."
“I Love the smell of napalm in the morning” is a famous quote which was first heard by Lieutenant Colonel Bill Kilgore played by actor Robert Duvall in the film Apocalypse Now. The quote was later used in other films, television shows as well as in multiple memes.
"You talking _____________ me?"
Perhaps one of the most iconic lines in movie history “You talking to me?” was first heard in the 1976 film Taxi Driver. The line was said by Travis Bickle, played by actor Robert De Niro while he was talking to himself in the mirror.

“Keep your friends close, but keep your enemies closer” was first heard in The 1974 classic, The Godfather: Part II. The classic line which is still referenced by many was said by mob boss Michael Corleone.

“May the Force be with you” is a quote which was first heard in the 1977 Star Wars movie and later in subsequent movies. It is often heard when wishing an individual or group of people good luck or success, often when saying goodbye or facing challenging situations.
“You make me want to be a better _________________.”
The line “You make me want to be a better man” was taken from the 1997 film, As Good As it Gets, starring Jack Nicholas and Helen Hunt. The line is heard when Melvin is finding it difficult to pay Carol a compliment. Out of nowhere, he blurts out the like, instantly melting Carol’s heart.

“I Wish I knew how to quit you” is a famous line which was said by Jack Twist to his lover Ennis played by actors Jake Gyllenhaal and Heath Ledger in the movie Brokeback Mountain. The heartfelt quote is still popularly said to this day.

“You can’t handle the truth!” is a popular quote which was first heard in the 1992 movie A Few Good Men. The line was said by Colonel Nathan Jessup, played by actor Jack Nicholson, as he testified in court when prompted to answer a question.

“There’s no place like home” is a quote which was taken from the 1939 film, The Wizard of Oz. The line was said repeatedly by Dorothy who was played by the actress Judy Garland when she was ready to go back home to Kansas.
"Hasta la vista, ____________."
“Hasta la vista, baby” which translates to goodbye or see you later in English is a catchphrase which was first heard in the science fiction thriller Terminator 2: Judgement Day. The line was said by the T-800 Terminator who was played by actor Arnold Schwarzenegger.

“If you can’t say something nice, don’t say nothing at all” is a line which was said by Thumper the rabbit in the 1942 Disney animated film, Bambi. The line has been adopted by many people, and it is still commonly heard today.

“May the odds be ever in your favor” is the most famous line from The Hunger Games novels and movies. The quote was often said by Effie Trinket and has been interpreted to mean ‘good luck’ or ‘hoping that fate is on your side.’

The line “they may take our lives…but they’ll never take our freedom” was said by actor Mel Gibson, playing the role of William Wallace in the 1995 film, Braveheart. The movie tells the story of the Scottish uprising led by Wallace against King Edward I of Britain.

“The greatest trick the devil ever pulled was convincing the world he didn’t exist” may seem like a line from the bible but it is from the 1994 film The Usual Suspect. It was said by actor Kevin Spacey playing the role of Verbal Kint, a role which he won an Oscar for.
"I'm also just a girl standing in front of a boy asking him to __________ her."
“I’m also just a girl standing in front of a boy asking him to love her” is a line which was heard in the 199 film Notting Hill. The line was spoken by Anna Scott, who was played by actor Julia Roberts as she is asking Will, who was played by Hugh Grant, for a second chance.
"Love means never having to say you’re ___________ ."
This classic but comical line ”love means never having to say sorry” was taken from an Eric Segal novel called Love Story, which was adapted into a feature film in the 1970s. It is heard twice throughout the movie, by both of the lead characters Jennifer and Oliver.

“I don’t want to survive. I want to live” is a quote which was heard in the 2013 period drama film based on the Twelve Years a Slave novel. The inspirational quote was said by Solomon Northup who was played by the English actor Chiwetel Ejiofor.
"Say _____________ to my little friend."
“Say hello to my little friend” is a quote which is from the 1983 movie Scarface. The classic line was said by actor Al Pacino, playing the role of gangster Tony Montana as he blasted through the doors of his nemesis with a Colt AR-15.
"Toto, i've a feeling we're not in ___________ anymore."
The line “Toto, I’ve a feeling we’re not in Kansas anymore” comes from the 1939 movie The Wizard of Oz. It is the first thing that Dorothy says to her dog, Toto after waking up in the wonderful land of Oz.

“Mrs. Robinson, you’re trying to seduce me. Aren’t you?” is a line from the 1967 movie The Graduate. The movie follows a recent college graduate lacking aim who is seduced by an older woman named Mrs. Robinson but falls in love with her daughter Elaine.

“Houston, we have a problem” is a famous line which was heard in the movie Apollo 13. The 1995 movie documented the real-life events of the Apollo space program, the third mission to land on the moon, which occurred in 1970.

“This is the beginning of a beautiful friendship” is a line which was heard in the 1942 movie Casablanca. It was said by actor Humphrey Bogart who played the role of Rick Blaine, after Louis dissuaded the police from finding him.

“You’re gonna need a bigger boat” is a line which was heard in the 1975 thriller movie Jaws. The line was said by Roy Schneider who played the role of Chief Martin Brody, a police officer wanting to close the beaches being attacked by sharks.

“I solemnly swear that I am up to no good” is a line which you say to reveal the contents of the Maurader’s Map. The line was first seen in the third installment of the Harry Potter franchise – The Prisoner of Azkaban and also in the adapted movie.

“I’m going to make him an offer he can’t refuse” is a quote taken from the 1972 movie, The Godfather – a movie about a crime patriarch transferring control to his son. The line was said by Don Vito Corleone, a role which was played by the actor Marlon Brando.

“The stuff dreams are made of” is a line which came from the 1941 film, The Maltese Falcon. It was spoken by the detective, Sam Spade who was played by the actor Humphrey Bogart, speaking about the falcon which everyone is after.

“I see dead people” is a line from the 1999 supernatural horror film The Sixth Sense which was written and directed by M. Night Shyamalan. It was said by Cole Sear, a troubled boy who had the ability to see and talk to dead people.
“Carpe diem. __________ the day, boys. Make your lives extraordinary.”
“Carpe diem. Seize the day boys. Make your lives extraordinary” is a line from the movie Dead Poet Society. The film which was nominated for several awards was the inspiration for Nancy H. Kleinbaum’s novel with the same name.
“Oh no, it wasn’t the airplanes. It was _____________ killed the Beast.”
“Oh no, it wasn’t the airplanes. It was Beauty killed the Beast” is a line which was first heard in the 1933 movie, King Kong. It was said by Carl Denham who was played by the actor Robert Armstrong.

“I’m just one stomach flu away from my goal weight” is a quote which was first heard in the 2006 comedy-drama film The Devil Wears Prada. The quote was said by Emily, played by the actress Emily Blunt talking about her goal weight.

"All right, Mr. DeMille, I'm ready for my close-up" is a line from the 1950 classic film Sunset Boulevard. The famous quote was said by actress Gloria Swanson who played the role of Norma Desmond, an actress and writer.
