Everyone knows about horses, chickens, and cows, but do you know just how diverse the animal kingdom truly is? There are millions of known animal species in the world, and every year there are hundreds, if not thousands, more animal species being discovered. 

When it comes to the seven continents - North America, South America, Europe, Africa, Asia, Australia, and Antarctica - it has been observed that each of them have varying levels of diversity. In addition to this, there are quite a lot of animal species that are actually endemic to specific continents and regions, meaning that they cannot be naturally found outside of these locations. Examples of these would be the red kangaroo, the bald eagle, the cheetah, and the emperor penguin.
