In 1995 "The Guinness Book of World Records" named the Bible the best-selling book of all time with more than 5 billion copies being sold. The world population at the time was 5.7 billion, so it's safe to say almost everybody on Earth knows at least one story from the Bible, even if they didn't read it themselves. Some of the world's most famous books and movies are based on Bible stories. The scriptures have been adapted so many times their central teachings have found their way into almost every story on Earth. Even if you think you don't know anything, you know something.
From the Book of Genesis to the Book of Revelation, what do you know? Do you remember the story Abraham and his search for the Promised Land? Who told Noah to build an ark, and what did he do with it? How did Moses free the Israelites from Egypt? Where was Jesus born? Who were Matthew, Mark, Luke and John, and how did David kill Goliath?

The Book of Genesis is about 50 chapters long and describes the creation of Earth. It begins with God creating the heavens and Earth, and it ends with Joseph dying. It covers more than 2,000 years of Biblical history.

In the World English Bible, the line in Matthew 7:12 says, "whatever you desire for men to do to you, you shall also do to them." It's a bit different in the King James Bible, but both verses have the same meaning. Jesus also quotes this message in the Gospel of Luke.

Adam and Eve died at age 930 and had at least three sons. They lived in the Garden of Eden and the place was described as a paradise on Earth. It represented innocence and sin and was also known as the Garden of Yahweh.

Almost every religious story that tells the creation of the Earth involves a story of a great flood. The great flood is told in chapters 6-9 in the Book of Genesis. God tells Noah to take two of every animal, one male and one female. God later gives Noah instructions to bring more animals.

God spoke the Ten Commandments to Moses in the Book of Exodus. Moses received the tablets with the laws on Mount Sinai. God then told Moses to relay the message all the Israelites that followed him into the desert.

You can find the story of the exodus in the Book of Exodus. Moses parts the Red Sea when he leads his Israelites out of slavery in Egypt and into the promised land of Canaan. There's no scientific evidence this ever happened, but believers believe it happened at the Gulf of Suez.

Cain and Abel were Eve's first two sons. Cain tilled soil while Abel was a sheep herder. One day, Abel offered a sheep to God and Cain offered some fruit. God liked Abel's gift more and Cain killed Abel in jealousy. God then exiled Cain for life.

"Love your neighbor as yourself" might be the central theme of The New Testament. It was this teaching that got Jesus in a lot of trouble with the locals because they didn't want to love their neighbors.

The Bible is full of underdog stories and David vs. Goliath might be the most famous of them all. Goliath was a Philistine monster who challenged whoever the Israelites had to offer. King Saul was afraid to fight, so the young David stepped up in his place.

Based on the number of verses, Psalms is the longest book in the Bible. Psalm 119 is the longest chapter in the Book of Psalms and the Book of Obadiah is the shortest book in the Bible. The Gospel of Luke is the longest book in the New Testament.

Joseph had a dream that he and his brothers were bundling wheat in a field. Joseph's bundle of wheat rose and stood upright while his brothers' bundles bowed down. This prophecy made Joseph's brothers angry and they sold him into slavery.

Many historians believe the baptism and crucifixion of Jesus to be historical fact. Jesus was crucified in Judaea, which was under Roman rule at the time. Pontius Pilate was governor of Judaea and was the official who ordered the crucifixion.

Paul the Apostle was also known as Saul of Tarsus and was one of the fiercest critics of Jesus and his gospel before being born again. Jesus appeared to him and struck him blind. After three days, Paul was able to see clearly.

All four gospels say that Jesus predicted the betrayal of Judas at the last supper, but none of them agree on a motive. He either did it for money or because he was possessed by Satan. Popular theory says Jesus allowed him to do it because it was part of God's plan.

The Book of Psalms is the longest book in the Bible and is made of ancient songs and poems. Many of the 150 psalms are attributed to King David, but his authorship is disputed by many historians. The psalms mostly center around praise for God.

The Book of Revelation is attributed to somebody named John, but nobody can agree on who John is. The book tells about John who miraculously washed up ashore a Greek island and had several revelations while living on the island.
