Ford is one of the oldest original car companies in the United States. The company has operated consistently since 1903 and is the second largest automaker in the nation and number five in the world. With that kind of longevity, they must be doing something right. Ford's success is not only about their iconic car models such as the Thunderbird and Mustang (shh, we're ignoring the fiasco that was the Edsel), it's about what they put under the hood of their cars.

But, even with the understanding that Ford has manufactured engines that power big rigs, it's hard to put into perspective that the company's first big V-8 engine only provided 65 horsepower.
