About This Quiz
Love K-Pop music and Korean BBQ? If so, then maybe your interests also lie within Korean TV shows. Some of the more popular ones include "Mr. Sunshine," "Love Alarm" and "Something in the Rain," but today, we're going to focus on something a little more romantic and dramatic: "Boys Over Flowers."
The first episode premiered on Jan. 5, 2009, and since then, the show has received numerous awards. From the KBS drama award for best couple to the Baeksang arts award for most popular male in television, "Boys Over Flowers" has left a heartfelt legacy on its fans and the South Korean culture. But what's this show all about anyway? Well, it features Ku Hye-sun who portrays Geum Jan-di, an "average" girl who suddenly enrolls at a wealthy and elite school after preventing a student's suicide attempt. There, she meets Gu Jun-pyo, who is portrayed by actor Lee Min-ho. Let's just say the two don't get along at first, but romance soon sparks between them. And it turns out that Gu is part of the elite "F4" group, aka the popular guys in school? These are just some of the basic plot points, but it's your job to tell us how the rest of the story goes in this South Korean drama quiz!
The rich and elite group known as the "F4" in the show is short for "Flower 4." This is also hinted by the title of the series, "Boys Over Flowers." It's written as 花ã®4人組 in Japanese.
Chu Ga-eul isn't part of the F4 group since she's the BFF of Geum Jan-di. Later on in the show, she begins to crush on one of the other F4 members, So Yi-Jung, who is very wealthy.
The Shinhwa High School in the series is located in Seoul, South Korea, and it's considered to be an upper-class school. The school was also founded by the president of South Korea and one of the authoritative members of the Shinhwa Group.
