Harry Potter's best friend, Ronald Weasley, is an average 11-year-old kid. Although he's excited to meet Harry, he soon realizes that Harry is just a kid like him and they bond over all things witchcraft.

Azkaban prison is said to be the most high-security prison ever made. It is guarded by the dementors, and no one gets out alive ... that is, until Sirius Black makes his escape by confusing the dementors.

Big things always happen to Harry on his birthday. Because the muggles Harry was living with didn't like magic, Hagrid has to break in to tell Harry he has magical powers,

   He gets kidnapped and Harry has to save him.

We all know that Neville has a knack for herbology, and one of the defining moments in Neville's storyline is when he helps Harry breathe under water. Although we used to think of Neville as a bumbling idiot, we now realize he's really smart.

Although many consider Hufflepuff to be an auxiliary Hogwarts house, they often forget that Cedric Diggory, who was chosen as the Hogwarts Triwizard Champion, was from that house. That meant he was the most suited in the entire school to battle a dragon and take on other brave tasks.

There is a mythological wand law in the wizarding world, and these laws function just like the laws of physics do in the muggle world. While we may think it's easy to make a want, it appears that a lot of work goes into it.

   They draw from a cup.

If you've read the book, you know that the sorting hat writes songs for every year (after all, what else is someone to do while sitting on a shelf for a year?). This magical item searches the minds of young ones and tells them where they belong.

The books have a lot of different subplots that never made it into the movie. The house elf revolution subplot is one of those. There are a lot of elves in the books that come up and help Harry and his friends throughout their adventures.

Draco Malfoy disarms Professor Dumbledore right before Snape kills him. Of course, we learn later that Dumbledore ordered Snape to do so. This storyline adds twists and turns to how we feel about the black-clad professor.

When you really stop to think about it, Ronald Weasley literally had a middle-aged man hanging out with him, like all the time. It's kind of creepy, and we also know his brothers weren't looking out for him at all ... considering they had the map.

You might think this map is a good thing, and it does play a huge role in helping Harry solve mysteries, but it really is an invasive map that raises some privacy issues for those on it ... and everyone is on it.

In order to defeat a boggart, you have to imagine something joyful and funny. When you think of this, the boggart gets confused and goes away, but you have to say the incantation to make it change form.

When you mix an eagle with a horse, you get a hippogriff. Hippogriffs are very proud animals, but if you don't treat them properly they will attack you. This was the case when Draco Malfoy tried to climb on Hagrid's animal.

To Remus Lupin, a full moon signifies that he is going to change into a werewolf. It's a huge fear for him, because when someone turns into a werewolf, they have no control over who they hurt or what they do.

In the first few books and movies, we see Seamus messing up different spells, enchantments and potions and blowing things up. However, in the later books, he learns to control his explosive ways and helps save Hogwarts.

In the fourth book and movie, we learn that Crabbe and Goyle's fathers are both Death Eaters. This makes sense, as both of their families are in Slytherin, both of these characters are a little dumb, and they both use brute force to get what they want.

Hadgrid is one of the most important characters in the series. He is the first magical person Harry meets after his parent's die, he protects Harry while they travel, and he teaches him the importance of different magical things.

Because Voldemort knows Harry isn't afraid to use his name, he put a curse on it. The curse basically calls Death Eaters to whoever says the word "Voldemort." It was a way to find Harry.

Hermione has always been good at charms and enchantments, so it only makes sense that she makes little flames to help keep the campers warm when they are looking for horcruxes in the last installment of the series.

The Order of the Phoenix is the group of people who actively seek to stop Lord Voldemort when he is in power. They were available during the first wizard war, and they make a return during the time of Harry Potter.

While expelliarmus is a disarming spell, it can actually hit your opponent and hurt them. This spell actually saved Harry Potter's life, but only because his wand and Voldemort's were connected.

We first learn the Accio spell in the beginning of book four. However, it isn't really shown in the movie as clearly. This is one spell all muggles want to learn, as it would certainly come in handy when looking for the remote.

Unfortunately, Kreature betrayed Sirius Black, and Harry was not smart enough to call Sirius on the two-way phone (mirror) that would help them talk to each other. This led to the death of Sirius Black.

No one in the wizarding world needs keys, especially if they understand the incantation to unlock doors. Of course, if the doors are protected with other spells, you might have a hard time getting the spell to work.

When Ron's family goes to Egypt, they get their picture in the Daily Prophet. Sirius sees the picture, and then sees Scabbers (also known as Peter Pettigrew), and Sirius becomes the first person to escape Azkaban.

For some reason, Ron is just fine when Harry falls in love with this sister. We suppose anyone would be okay with the Chosen One marrying his sister, in the wizarding world or not.

The dementors are the ones who guard Azkaban prison. We first meet them when they are on the hunt for Sirius Black. These creatures are a metaphor for deep, dark depression. Chocolate can subside their effects.

The Ministry of Magic is home to a lot of interesting magical artifacts. However, although the Hall of Prophecies holds every prophecy ever made, the only ones who can retrieve them are those for whom the prophecies were made.

There have been many jokes about flipping the Time Turner back far enough to stop Tom Riddle from becoming Voldemort ... or even stopping Harry's parents from dying. Yet, there wouldn't be a story if that happened.
