About This Quiz
Don't get it twisted: we know young millennials and Gen Zers have been alive for, like, A LOT of lit pop culture moments. At least some of us were around for Madonna and Britney's wild kiss at the VMAs, to witness Nokia phones being everywhere and breathing the same Earth air as Will Smith as he made what now seems like a bunch of movies about aliens.Â
But, just because we were alive for a specific pop culture moment or trend doesn't mean it necessarily hits home with us. If you were five years old at the height of the Biggie and Tupac feud, we're guessing you didn't have strong feelings about East Coast vs. West Coast hip-hop. We certainly didn't!
So, what are we trying to get at with all this (aside from the fact we low-key sometimes have trouble telling a Biggie song from a Tupac one)? We know the whole "millennial" thing spans a lot of years, and we don't want you to feel bad for not remembering every pop culture moment and trend along the way. That's why we put together this special pop culture quiz, and if you're able to pass it, you're probably (like, almost definitely) under the age of 25.
And, if you're over the age of 25, you're high key invited to take this quiz as well. Take our quiz to reveal if your pop culture knowledge makes you young AF at heart! Â Â
It was about time Disney got with the program! It certainly took long enough, but the world finally got its first black Disney Princess in 2009 when "The Princess and the Frog" hit theaters. We love Princess Tiana's confident personality and think New Orleans is such a fun setting for a Disney flick.
For bops like "bad guy" and "bury a friend," Billie Eilish won "Best New Artist" at the 2019 VMAs. These days, so much of what's on the radio sounds the same, so Billie was a breath of fresh air. Oh, and we're living for each and every "bad guy" remix.
For so long, the big complaint about our smartphones was that everyone stayed glued to them INSIDE. But with Pokémon Go, we stayed glued to them OUTSIDE. It was big fun to wander around the neighborhood in search of a virtual Charmander.

The obsession with Fortnite was (and still kind of is) real. The video game's popularity might have something to do with that one time when Drake and Travis Scott live-streamed themselves playing. At one point, more than 600,000 viewers were watching them in real-time!
Over the years, we've seen our fair share of odd celebrity couples, but Ariana Grande and Pete Davidson take the cake. The two dated for just 24 days before getting engaged. Surprise: They ended up calling the whole thing off in October 2018. But in the time they were together, they did get matching ink, so that's something!
High school is hard enough, but then mix in a mysterious death?! We're obsessed with "Riverdale" and can't get enough of the main crew: Jughead, Betty, Veronica and Archie. No Jasper! Plus, we'll just watch anything with Cole Sprouse in it.

Is there anything Beyoncé CAN'T do? In 2018, she became the first black female to headline Coachella. She played a 26-song setlist that clocked in at nearly two hours. As if Bey herself wasn't enough, her performance featured appearance by Rihanna, Jay-Z and Destiny's Child.
After how good "The Lord of the Rings" trilogy was (each book was made into its own movie), we were pumped to hear Peter Jackson was back on board to do "The Hobbit." But three movies for the shortest Tolkien book was probably two movies too many.
No cap, Deadpool is our fave mutant. In 2016, Ryan Reynolds gave us a new kind of superhero when he played Wade Wilson in "Deadpool." This superhero isn't your "do no harm" type of dude. It broke our hearts to see the sexy-AF actor with his face all melted, but the hilarious Deadpool made up for it.

Don't be salty with us for getting "Despacito" stuck in your head yet again. It's just so catchy! While the original song is a total bop, we have to admit our fave version is the remix with the Biebs singing in Spanish. Justin, you're amazing!
Yuh, Luke Hemmings is the lead singer for 5 Seconds of Summer. That band has bops, but in our opinion, they can't even come close to comparing to One Direction. The One Direction band members all have their own careers these days, but if the Jonas Brothers reunited, maybe 5SoS will too.
Let's be real: We had a feeling Kylie Jenner was pregnant, but without confirmation from the celebrity herself, how were we supposed to be sure? In February 2018, Kylie gave birth to her adorable daughter Stormi. Stormi's dad is rapper Travis Scott.

Can you keep your Jonas Brothers straight? Nick and the gorgeous Priyanka Chopra tied the knot in 2018 and proceeded to celebrate their nuptials with approximately a million wedding receptions around the world.
Drake has a lot of bops to his name, but the only one to spark a social media dance challenge was "In My Feelings." Remember all those videos of people jumping out of their moving cars to dance alongside them? Woof.
The Kardashians have always been known for their drama, but Khloe's baby daddy Tristan Thompson cheating on her with Kylie's BFF Jordyn Woods took things to a whole other level. But we guess, like, Kylie and Jordyn are friends again now?

Prince Harry getting married to a non-royal was, like, a big freaking deal and a lot of people (mostly stuffy Brits) were salty about it in 2018. But we're obsessed with Meghan Markle, and their televised $45-million-dollar wedding is the only thing that could get us out of bed that early.
These days, when people ask you what kind of shows you like to watch, it's actually acceptable to answer "ones about murder." Crime documentaries got a huge boost in popularity when Netflix debuted "Making a Murderer." Steven Avery is behind bars, but should he be?
No cap, we still haven't recovered from the emotional rollercoaster that was "A Star is Born." In addition to an incredible on-screen performance, Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga teamed up for a killer soundtrack. There's never a bad time to cry and listen to "Shallow"!

Yaas, has there ever existed better casting than Liam Hemsworth as Gale Hawthorne? Tbh, we've never been sure about how we'd deal in a post-apocalyptic world, but knowing Gale/Liam lives in District 12 makes us think we could so deal.
We are here for all the representation and diversity! In 2016, "Star Trek" got its first LGBTQ character when it was revealed that Hikaru Sula would have a husband in "Star Trek Beyond." Yaas, give us more woke sci-fi, PLZ!
With its fresh, political twist, Jordan Peele's "Get Out" was a new kind of horror movie. It was creepy AF and showed Hollywood that audiences want more from the horror genre than the simpleminded slasher-type films the studios have been putting out for far too long.

Social media has never been so cold ... literally. In order to raise money and promote awareness for ALS, people challenged each other to dump a bucket of ice water over their head. To prove they'd taken the challenge, people shared videos on different social media platforms.
We may have been kids when "Titanic" came out, but that doesn't mean we love Leonardo DiCaprio any less. Over the years, this mega-talented actor could have won an Oscar for any number of movies, but it wasn't until "The Revenant" that he finally got his golden statue.
It's no secret Taylor Swift has quite the track record of dating Hollywood dudes. Of the guys above, the only one she hasn't dated is Tom Holland. But if things don't work out with her current bae Joe Alwyn, maybe she'll end up writing a song about young Spider-Man.

We weren't around when the first "Star Wars" movie dropped, but we def still stan. In 2016, the sad news broke that Carrie Fisher, the actress who played Princess Leia, died. If we're being honest, the franchise just isn't the same without her.
Tbh, we probably would have paid a lot closer attention to American history if Lin-Manuel Miranda had been teaching the class. We're still trying to score tix to see "Hamilton," but even years later, it's almost impossible to see the popular show!
Even though weird AF stuff happens in Hawkins, Indiana, we'd still so totally live there. "Stranger Things" took Netflix by storm when the first season dropped in 2016. Who knew something so '80s would still resonate today? Huh, supernatural oddities must be timeless!

My dude, we can't even begin to imagine what this must have felt like. At the 2017 Oscars, the presenters announced "La La Land" had won "Best Picture." Turns out, they'd accidentally grabbed the wrong envelope, and the winner was actually "Moonlight." Yikes!

When Miley and Liam got married, we finally started to believe in true love! But just eight months later, we saw the pics of Miley making out with Kaitlynn Carter (Brody Jenner's ex-wife) on a boat in Italy. Not long after, the news broke that Miley and Liam were splitting up.

Wow, credit to you if you remembered "50 Shades of Grey" was actually inspired by Bella and Edward's weird teen vampire love! Not only were the books a huge deal, but we also got three movies starring Dakota Johnson as Anastasia Steele.
If you answered this question based on the number of books in the "Harry Potter series, then you probably got it wrong, fam. Because "Deathly Hallows" was so freaking long, Warner Bros. ended up splitting the seventh book into two movies for eight films in all.
Yuh, if you were freaked out to watch the season seven premiere, it was with good reason! Negan and his infamous baseball bat "Lucille" took out one of "The Walking Dead's" most beloved characters, Glenn. An insane 17 million people in the U.S. alone watched the episode, but the ratings have been dropping ever since.

Leave it to "Rick and Morty," amirite? Back in 2017, a recurring joke in one of the episode's talked about how fire McDonald's Szechuan sauce was. To capitalize on the publicity, the fast-food chain decided to bring back the condiment for a limited time but couldn't meet the insane demand.
For all the theorizing we did, we had absolutely no idea Bran Stark would end up on the Iron Throne. Like, seriously? The Three-Eyed Raven? Give us a break! Well, at least now that "GOT" is over, we can cancel expensive-AF HBO. Bye, Felicia.
