It's a strange relationship we have with cars when you think about it. We create these incredible machines to help us travel faster and carry more over a longer distance while protecting us from the elements, and we have to trust that we'll all use them properly. We do our best to ensure everyone knows the rules of the road, but really it's up to each individual to follow through on that promise to follow the rules. And if you've been on the open road for even a few minutes, you know that not everyone follows those rules. One rule above all gets broken all the time - speeding. People just love to go fast.
Just looking at the speedometer in any exotic car is a good indication that even auto manufacturers are in on this little ruse of ours. If speed limits were something everyone cared about, would we keep making cars that can crack 200 miles per hour? Of course not.  There's a tacit acceptance that some people are just going to go too fast. And sure, there are times and places when you really can just cut loose and open up the engine to see how fast it goes, but those are usually rare. But you have to wonder, just how fast can it go? And how fast would you go? If you were a car, would you be following the speed limits? Why not take our quiz and find out just what speed you're set at.Â
If it's Sunday afternoon, what are you most likely to be doing with your time?
