About This Quiz

In the U.S., people are often grouped into generations. While the start and end dates of who is born into which generation tend to blur a little bit, the eras are roughly defined. The four most recent generations are the Baby Boomers, Generation X, Millennials, and Generation Z. These cover groups of people born between approximately 1945 and the present. That's a whole chunk of time to deal with!

While a new clickbait article circles every day claiming that the Baby Boomers and Millennials are at war, that leaves a whole gap of people in the middle left out of the media circus. These are those of Generation X, who were born roughly between the early 1960s and early 1980s. While the Millennials are alternately torn apart and praised by the older generations, Generation X is largely left alone by them. However, that doesn't mean they haven't played a big part in shaping pop culture, music, politics, and more! They have created numerous phrases that are still common to this day.

Interpret these Gen X phrases, and we will see if we can guess your true age correctly! Put us to the test with this gnarly word quiz! See if we can hit the nail on the head!
