Fast food was created to meet the needs of hungry people quickly, with cheap and profitable ingredients. The speed of service was a big deal when this concept for food was invented, and still is today. People simply did not have the time to wait close to an hour for nourishment. From the time this call was met, fast food has become a growing empire, with numerous companies trying to capitalize on humans' need to get things done quickly, including eating. And as the number of restaurants has grown, so has the variety, and that's why we're here today. We want to see just how many fast foods you can name. 

So we're going to show you some of the most popular fast foods, not only in the US, but also in the world, and it'll be your job to tell us what each food (or drink) is. We have seasoned fries, BLTs, onion rings, chocolate chip cookies and a whole lot more in this quiz.  If you're up to the challenge of trying to name them all, then it's time to get started. 

Can you really name all these fast foods from a picture? 

French fries are stripped potatoes that are then fried in oil. This crispy snack is usually served with sauces and dips made of condiments such as ketchup, mayonnaise and tartar sauce. Many claim that this go-to snack originated in Belgium, where locals would fry potatoes as an alternative to fish during the winter.

Cheeseburgers are hamburgers served with lots of cheese on top of the meat. Though delicious, this fast food has received a bad rap for the calories and fat that are packed into it.

Pizza is a food made of a baked dough that is shaped like a pie and garnished with tomato sauce, cheese and other preferred toppings. In Italy, pizza means "pie," and the Italians are credited for creating for creating the pizza, although not as we know and love it today.

Fried chicken is a food prepared by immersing the chicken into a batter, usually made of flour, seasonings and eggs. The battered chicken can then either be fried in a deep fryer, on a stove top or pressure fryer. The Scottish are credited for inventing fried chicken.

Onion rings is a popular side dish in the United States and countries such as Canada and The United Kingdom. These battered onions are deep-fried and served along with burgers and fries in many fast food restaurants. The recipe can be alternated to suit dietary specifications.

Lemonade is a simple beverage made with lemons, water and sugar. This refreshing drink is usually served cold and may or may not have pulp. It is also is mixed with different flavors such as strawberry, raspberry, pineapple and ginger.

Tacos are rolled tortillas stuffed with just about anything- from ground meat with seasonings and peppers to vegetables and guacamole. There's even a National Taco Day- recognized on Oct. 4 in the United States.

Hash browns are shredded potatoes that are fried on the stovetop with butter, seasonings and salt until the potatoes are brown. The potatoes can also be diced and mixed with onions. Variations such as potatoes O'Brien and patties are also made.

Cheese curds are the end product in the cheese making process; it is made of whey and curd that is formed after the pasteurized milk has clotted. It is also called "squeaky cheese" because of the squeaky sound they make when bitten into. In the Midwest, they're battered and fried as a favorite fair food.

Milkshakes are cold drinks made often with a blend of milk, ice cream and various syrups such as chocolate and fruit. Milkshakes date as far back as the 1900s, when ice cream was introduced to the recipe. Before that, whiskey was added to the mix.

The burrito is a flour tortilla stuffed with fillings such as beans, meat and vegetables. It is similar to the taco because it is made with tortillas and fillings, but there is a distinctive difference: the burrito is a flour wrap while the taco is a folded tortilla.

Chicken nuggets are a fast food made from the meat of the chicken that is battered or prepared with breadcrumbs, before being fried in vegetable oil. These nuggets are regarded as unhealthy because they contain hundreds of calories and are made up of lots of fat.

Iced tea is just that- tea that is served cold and flavored with lemon and other citrus fruits for that added taste. Fruits such as kiwi and pineapple add a tangy taste to this traditional drink.

Seasoned fries are made more or less the same way as ordinary fries, except this time they are flavored with seasonings. Paprika, salt and peppers such as cayenne and black pepper are often used.

Biscuits are a small flour pastry served frequently for breakfast in a fast food restaurant. Hardee's, Popeye's and KFC are credited for their delicious golden and crispy biscuits.

Hamburgers are patties usually made of ground beef, that are fried or prepared on a grill and served with bread and various dressings. In just one year, fifty billion hamburgers are served in the United States. Just imagine, this is about 800,000 miles of burgers consumed.

Breadsticks are strips of bread dough that are most often baked. They're often sold as a side dish with pizza, for double the carbs!

Donuts are sweet, ball/ring-shaped pastries. They are often glazed with chocolate, sugar icing, sprinkles and even fruit. Billions of donuts are produced in the United States every year, and, Voodoo Doughnut in Oregon once sold medicinal donuts laced with NY-Quil and Pepto Bismol.

Apple pie is a sweet pastry made primarily with apples. Cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg and vanilla extract are used to add flavor to the traditional apple pie recipe. This ideal comfort food may be glazed with caramel or topped with whipped cream or ice cream.

Chocolate chip cookies are a pastry treat containing bits of chocolate in them. These cookies were invented in 1930 by Ruth Graves Wakefield, who created the cookies by accident. When she ran out of ingredients for a cookie recipe, she added Nestle chocolate to the mix, only to discover that the chocolate softened and added a delicious taste to the cookies.

Macaroni and cheese, also known as mac n cheese or macaroni pie, is a baked dish of precooked macaroni, cheese, butter and milk. Mac n cheese is a filling dish that can be eaten by itself or served as a side dish along with meat, provisions and beans and vegetables.

BLT is a sandwich named after its main ingredients: bacon, lettuce and tomatoes. This simple sandwich can be altered based on one's preference, such as the choice of condiments and type of lettuce and whether or not the bread ought to be toasted.

Chicken tenders, also known as chicken fingers/strips/fillets, are strips of deep-fried boneless chicken. Chicken tenders are often served with fries and dips such as ketchup and ranch dressing.

Hush puppies are fried cornmeal dough that is shaped into balls. These are popular in the Southern United States and are often served with seafood. Allegedly, this food was served by hunters and fishermen to their dogs, to keep them quiet, hence the name "hush puppies."

Waffle fries are also known by the French name, pommes gaufrettes. These rounded fries are prepared similar to traditional french fries but with one significant difference: a crinkle cut blade and a mandolin are used to create ridges and the wavy shape.

The club in club sandwich means "Chicken and Lettuce under Bacon." This American delicacy is simple; it comprises of three slices of bread and two rows of meat. Club sandwiches were developed in America in the 1890s.

A sundae is an ice cream dessert made with various ingredients such as nuts, whipped cream, fruits and flavored syrup. Nov. 11 is recognized as National Sundae Day in the United States while July 25 is National Hot Fudge Sundae Day.

Mashed potatoes are a dish made with boiled potatoes, milk and butter. The potatoes are first peeled, boiled and then mashed before the other ingredients are added.

This type of sandwich is made out of beef loaf or roast beef that is pre-sliced. Hamburger buns are often used as the bread and then onions, melted cheese and barbecue sauce are added to create the roast beef sandwich.

Frosty is a milkshake introduced in 1969 by the international fast-food chain Wendy's. The founder, Dave Thomas, introduced this tasty milkshake. It quickly became a favorite among customers, particularly in the mid-2000s when over 300 million Frosty's were sold

Chicken sandwiches are made when boneless chicken is placed between slices of bread and cheese. The sandwich is also adorned with condiments, and vegetables such as lettuce and cucumbers are also added.

When cylindrical grated potatoes are deep fried; they are called tater tots. This crispy, salty side dish was invented by two brothers: Golden and F. Nephi Grigg, who decided to make good use of the potato scraps left over from their food business, Ore-Ida.

Smoothies are a thick blended drink made with fruits, milk and other liquids. Due to their ingredients, smoothies are usually very healthy and area good breakfast option. Smoothies can improve digestion, balance hormones and boost one's immunity to disease.

Cinnamon twists or variations of them are served by a multitude of fast food companies as dessert. They're usually twisted breadsticks that have been covered with cinnamon and some for of sugar.

Soda is a flavored carbonated drink usually sold in many supermarkets and fast food restaurants. Soda is notoriously known for its lack of nutritional value, excess sugar and negative impact on one's health. As a result, efforts are being made to ban soda in schools across the world.

Philly cheesesteak is a 1930 South Philadelphia invention loved for its cheesy goodness. Slices of beef, onion and, of course, cheese, are stuffed into a long hoagie roll.

Baked potato is a simple recipe where the potato is garnished and baked for consumption. When cooked, it should be soft on the inside and crispy on the outside. Toppings such as butter, herbs and sour cream are also a delicious addition to the baked potato.

Limeade is a lime drink made from limes and sweetened water. This cold beverage helps one to reap the health benefits of lime: its high concentration of vitamin C and antioxidants, ability to lower cholesterol and improve skin health.

Root beer float, also known as "black cow," was originally made with root beer and vanilla ice cream, but now other flavors are used. The combination of the root beer and the ice cream causes a delicious foam to rise to the top of the drink- hence the name.

Croissant- the French word for crescent- is a small flaky pastry named after its shape. This sweet food is made of several layers of butter and pastry and is a popular breakfast food in France. In recent times, it is not always made with the curved shape.
