How many bedrooms do you want in your fixer-upper?
Maybe five or six bedrooms would be nice.
Two or three are fine, as long as I have a den.
I'd love seven, but I can make do with two if I need to.
How much are you hoping to spend on your renovations?
Maybe 30K - I hope we can keep most of what's already there.
120K sounds reasonable, or maybe more if I get a good deal.
I'd hope that with DIY, I could keep it under 50K.
It's demo day with Chip! How involved do you want to be?
I might want to supervise, but I don't want to be involved.
I want the first swing, and maybe the second!
I'm already done by the time Chip gets there. Oops!

Having to keep carpet everywhere!

I love the idea of a gray exterior, maybe with black trim.
I love light blue on houses, with white trim.

The open concept great room!

What do you think is the hardest design decision that you will have to make?
Whether to splurge on the marble countertops I want

What would you love for kitchen countertops?
I love the look and feel of concrete counters.
I just love granite counters.
Butcher block counters are my favorite.
Marble would be really lovely.
How do you feel about shiplap?
I honestly don't like it very much.
I love it when it's whitewashed.
Put it everywhere! I will accept nothing else.
It has its place as an accent.
What are you thinking about doing with the flooring?
I could go with bamboo floors or tile.
I think a nice carpet makes the whole house feel cozy.
As long as it's durable and easy to clean, I'll go with what's in the budget.
I'll keep the original hardwoods at all cost.
Do you prefer a shower or a bathtub?
I love both, but I prefer to keep them separate.
I prefer a shower, with breathing room.
I think a shower/tub combo is the most practical situation.
I love a good soaking tub.
What kind of wallpaper will you be putting on your feature wall?
Some kind of gold-accented geometric design
Where would the wallpaper go if every wall is covered in shiplap?
How about a tropical leaf print?
What will you be asking Joanna to do with the extra room?
Make it into a playroom for little ones!
A craft room would be heavenly.
A music room would be pretty chill.

What kind of feet will be running around your house?
Human feet, paws, maybe even hooves!
What kind of furniture would you have custom made by Clint Harp?
A dining table, with a bench of course

Would you be interested in tearing down a wall if Joanna insisted?
Sure - I love open spaces.
Only to open up the kitchen. Otherwise, I like having separate rooms.
Only if I get to help Chip take it down.
I would have to hear a really good case to consider that.
Which of these items is a must-have for your property?
Which Chip saying are you going to find yourself repeating after this whole process?
I doubt I'll be repeating anything from that goofball! He's funny, but not quite my style.
Where are you hoping Jo Jo puts your customary barn door?
Honestly? Nowhere. It's not my style.
That would be a nice way to close off a formal dining room and make it an office.
If it could be the front door, I'd take it. Otherwise, the family room for sure!
That would be a nice door for the closet in my master suite.
What is your reaction going to be when they pull apart the massive "before" pictures?
Honestly, I hope I'm utterly speechless.
I'll probably scream in pure joy.
I'm pretty reserved, so I'll probably just smile and say a big "Wow!"

What aspect of Joanna's final touches are you going to purchase after the initial showing?
I love her antique cabinets and shelves.
Her artwork is my favorite!
I love her taste in bedroom furniture and linens!
I'm a sucker for a well-dressed dining table.
What room is your favorite for gathering your family?
I love the living room for this, with couches and chairs.
I love having my whole family in the kitchen and dining area.
My favorite place to have my family is the backyard.
We like cozying up in the master bedroom for movie nights!
What part of the whole "Fixer Upper" process is going to be your favorite?
The big reveal with the giant "before" pictures!
Going through the CAD designs with Joanna and imagining the possibilities!
Actually inviting people over to my new home for the first time!
