Being on "House Hunters" seems like a real trip. Whether you're looking for your forever home, your for now home or something in between, there are so many things to consider when buying a house. Setting your budget is the first step, and from there, it gets so fun. Searching for a home that has the right kitchen, the perfect bedroom and the most spacious backyard is the pinnacle of adulthood. Or maybe you care more about the colors on the wall and the type of flooring your feet will be walking on for years to come. A lot of things about a house can be changed over time, but there are some elements that will remain indefinitely.
The job you have will play a big part in what kind of house you can get. Those on "House Hunters" honestly have the most unique jobs, and the internet has taken it and turned them into a culture of its own. Maybe it's out of jealousy that someone can actually afford a million-dollar home with a job like professional book organizer, or maybe it's just out of complete shock that these are jobs that exist today. I'm gonna start with $800,000.
How many houses do you want to look at before having to make a final decision?
Hopefully I find it on the first try.

All stainless steel appliances
A big backyard with a pool
Where is there a little more wiggle room?
I will budge on the size of the bedrooms.
I don't need real hardwood.
As long as there's more than one bathroom, I'm fine.
What do you hope you feel when you walk into the right house?
I hope I can picture myself in the house.
I want to feel like it's a place that I can raise kids in.
Where are you looking for your home?
I want to be near the woods.

That sounds like a lot of upkeep.
I wouldn't mind some acreage.

At least a few times a month
Is having a garage important to you?
Oh yes, at least a three-car garage
It would be nice as a studio.
Houses look incomplete without a garage.
Do you need to be near a city?
That doesn't matter to me.
Close enough that I can get to it, but not too close.
I don't need to be, but I would like to be.
Do you require a walk-in closet?
If I'm paying a lot of money, I want a large closet.
It would definitely be nice.
I'm looking for older homes, so I probably won't get one.
How would you handle the house you really want being over budget?
I would offer what I'm willing to pay.
If the house is worth it, I'll pay it.
I will not go over budget.
Are good schools something you're worrying about?
I guess I should worry about that.
I definitely don't care about that.
Not worrying, but it's on my mind.
Would you ever live in a tiny house?
That sounds like my kind of house.

Nah, I can work from anywhere.

I could fix up a few easy things.

I actually want to be far from family.
I have family all over, so it doesn't matter.

I can definitely do it myself.
For the level of homes I'm looking at, it would be nice to have it already done.

How many bedrooms do you want in the house?
I think four is a good number.
I want room to grow, so no less than five bedrooms.
Is there a specific view you want from your bedroom window?
My backyard and my gardens and water features
Are you moving in with anyone?
Not yet, but I might have someone live with me to help pay the bills.
Do you need space for pets?
I have a couple dogs, so a backyard is needed.
Is it ideal to have neighbors close in age?
It's ideal, but I can make friends with anyone.
I like to live near families, it's nicer.
I'd rather not have any neighbors.
Do you want new construction, or are you OK with something a little older?
New construction for sure
I could take something with a few years on it.
If it's the right house, I don't care when it's from.
I think new construction, but who knows.
Are you looking for really high end finishes?
Eh, that's not so important.
I can always change them later.
Is it crucial to be near good restaurants?
I absolutely need good food around me.
I cook for myself a lot, so it's not crucial.
I do like a little treat every now and then.
