Most of us have to settle for driving something mainstream like a Toyota Camry, a Ford Focus or Chevrolet Silverado. A few who want to stand out from the crowd will opt for a Chevrolet Camaro or a Ford Mustang. However, those with unlimited amounts of cash and a need for speed are able to afford cars that the rest of us can only dream about.
Companies like Shelby, Bugatti, and McLaren produce their cars in small batches, which not only ensures complete customization, but also that the vehicle's price doesn't depreciate much or at all. In fact, some will even build you whatever you want as long as you can afford it.Â
In 2018, the most expensive new car is a one-of-a-kind, custom-ordered Rolls-Royce Sweptail, which cost $13 million and took Rolls-Royce 4 years to build. Considering its price tag, the Sweptail makes McLaren's Speedtail look like a bargain at $2.2 million.Â
While those prices are out of reach for the majority of people, limited edition collectible sports cars can fetch even more money at auction. In 2018, a Ferrari 250 GTO sold for $48 million. At least you can dream about owning these cars.Â

The Dodge La Femme was produced for 1955 and 1956. Dodge sold approximately 2,500 La Femmes. The 1955 version came in heather rose and sapphire white, while the 1956 model had a color scheme of misty orchid and regal orchid.
There were 350 Morris Millions made. However, only one is considered official with the rest considered replicas. All cars were painted lilac and had the same white leather seats with black piping.

Ferrari only made 56 of the 1961 Ferrari 250 GT SWB California Spider. Of those 56, only 37 had covered headlights.
In 2013, a new Lamborghini Veneno sold for approximately $3.9 million. The car can go from 0 to 60 mph in 2.8 seconds and has a top speed of 221 mph.

The Trevita goes from 0 to 60 miles per hour in 2.9 seconds. At one point, one of the two vehicles produced was owned by Floyd Mayweather Jr.
In 2015, the one remaining 1966 Shelby Cobra 427 Super Snake sold for $5.1 million. At one point the other Super Snake was owned by Bill Cosby, who later returned the car because the experience of driving the vehicle scared him.
In 2005, the only existing 1954 Oldsmobile F-88 was sold at a Scottsdale, Arizona auction for approximately $3.3 million. It is currently on display at the Gateway Colorado Automobile Museum.

There are only 40 Lamborghini Centenarios in the world. Twenty of the vehicles are coupes and the other 20 are roadsters. The first unit sold for $2.3 million.
As of March 6, 2018, 300 Bugatti Chirons have been sold. The base model starts at $3 million.

In 2016, Jaguar decided to rebuild nine units that were destroyed in a 1957 factory fire. The cars are built to 1957 specifications, so they cannot be driven legally in the United Kingdom. Each car was sold for more than $1.4 million.
In 1998, McLaren produced F1's with LM-specifications. While they are also rare, with just 106 produced, the F1 is a completely different vehicle.
Fred Gibb had to place an order of at least 50 vehciles to get the car made. Even though 69 Camaro ZL1s were made and 50 were shipped to Gibb Chevrolet. Gibb could only sell 13 because of the car's $7,200 price tag, which was considerably more expensive than everything else on his lot.

The red 1966 Dodge Coronet four-door Sedan sold for $660,000 in 2007. The white model is owned by "Big Daddy" Don Garlits, who is a drag racing legend.
In 1970, only 41,000 Plymouth Road Runner Convertible's were sold with that model year. Only three Hemi Road Runner convertibles were built for 1970. However, just one had a four-speed-transmission and the Pistol Grip shifter.
In 1966, there were 57 Ford Fairlane 427s built. While the 1967 model year had 230 units, 72 of those XLs came with the four-speed transmission.

There were only 55 R023 GTX's made. It is a lighter version of the 1967 Plymouth GTX Hemi.

There were only 400 Ferrari Enzos made. Currently, a Ferrari Enzo sells for $2.5 million to $3 million.
When the Dodge Wayfarer was sold, it cost $1,700. Today, they are rare because they were so affordable at the time. The 1950 model year consisted of 75,000 cars.
The Mazda RX-7 was built for the 1993 to 1995 model years. It uses a Wankel rotary engine.

The first Plymouth Arrows sold in the United States market were sold in 1975. The car was on the market until 1980.
