Jackie heads to the police academy. She works as a police officer for awhile, but eventually leaves the force due to an injury sustained on the job.
It lasted nine seasons, running from October 1988 until May 1997. The show was briefly number one in the Nielsen ratings.
The magic word is "corn." Corn was supposed to be Dan Conner's favorite food, and therefore, it appeared in some form or another in almost every episode.

David never once calls Roseanne by her first name. Instead, he calls her "Mrs. Conner."

The re-boot premiered in March 2018 and was cancelled in May of the same year. Then, a spin-off called "The Conners" premiered in October 2018.
Three days after it premiered, it was renewed by ABC. It was only cancelled after a controversial tweet by Roseanne Barr echoed across the internet. "The Conners" was the way the network could keep the show going without including Roseanne Barr.
The show broached topics like gay marriage, poverty and how having to work affects traditional gender roles.

Laurie Metcalf won three Emmy Awards for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series, and Roseanne Barr won one Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series.
The president of the United States, Donald Trump, personally wanted to congratulate Roseanne Barr on her success. She had been a vocal supporter of his politics.
