About This Quiz

The political state of our country is kind of a big ol' mess! There is so much division among the parties, some people might feel a little worried when it comes to posting or commenting on social media. Regardless of that, we are all entitled to our own viewpoints and the way we feel about certain policies and beliefs.

That's where this quiz comes into play! You can go through this quiz and answer truthfully, and no one will judge you for your thoughts. In the end, we will tally up your answers and decide if you lean more Democrat or maybe you lean more Republican. Either way, maybe you will learn a thing or two about yourself that might shock you.

Do you think corporations are being given too many tax benefits and the middle class should be getting some of those tax benefits? Do you feel the U.S. should focus more on its own citizens and stop fighting wars throughout the world or would the world be worse off without the U.S. involvement? You know you want to find out, which is why you need to make your way through all these questions and find out where your political heart lies!

What are your thoughts on gay marriage?

Everyone should be allowed to marry the person they love.

Marriage is between a man and a woman.
Marriage is about procreation. Gay couples cannot produce children together, so they should not be allowed to get married.

Denying someone the right to marry is discriminatory.

Where do you stand on the Affordable Care Act (Obamacare)?

Insurance costs have been on the rise ever since Obamacare went into place.

Despite what reports say, Obamacare helped to slow the rise of health care costs.
I shouldn't be forced to get health insurance through the government.

The fact that pre-existing conditions are covered is reason enough to keep Obamacare.

The caravan of people marching through Mexico to the United States before the midterm elections in 2018 was what?

A political stunt to try and make our party lose votes

A threat to the United States that needed to be addressed
We need secure borders, so more troops should be sent to stop these caravans of people.

A waste of time and money of the troops sent to the border

Is climate change real?

The greatest hoax perpetrated against the American people ever

I'm going to agree with the scientists on this one.
The crazy weather these past few years is enough to make me believe in it.

Forget what the scientists say, I'm believing what the president says about it.

With all the mass shootings the past few years, should gun control be put in place?

No one needs an AR-15, so assault weapons need to be banned.

We need stricter background checks and restrictions on where people can buy guns.
The only thing that stops a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun.

It's my Second Amendment right, so don't try taking my gun away.

Should abortions be illegal?

Every individual has the right to life in this country, including that unborn child.

Every woman should have the right to choose whether or not she gets an abortion.
The government needs to stop trying to regulate a woman's body.

Abortions should be banned and government funding for abortion providers should be stopped, like Planned Parenthood.

The minimum wage needs to be raised?

Yes, we need to "Fight for $15" on a national level.

An increase in minimum wage will force businesses to increase the price of their products, so everyone loses.
Companies can't afford to pay more, so jobs will be lost.

The minimum wage needs to be raised to be at a living wage standard.

Do you think ICE should be abolished?

If you get rid of ICE, you are going to live in a country where you are afraid to leave your house.

What ICE has been doing with undocumented immigrants is inhumane and needs to be abolished.
These are the true heroes of our country and they need to continue doing the work that they do.

We need to get rid of this system that is cruel and not working and make a new system for immigration reform.

The rich should be paying more in taxes?

We should all be taxed the same, regardless of our income.

Taxes should only be used to go to the country's essential functions, like infrastructure.
We need to increase the marginal tax rate, which would give a higher rate to the rich.

We need to raise taxes for government spending, which in turns would create business.

How should military spending be addressed?

Increased spending

Decreased spending
The military deserves higher wages, so a bigger budget for them is needed.

We need to take some of that defense spending and start investing it in domestic priorities.

Do we need voter ID laws?

Voter fraud is nearly non-existent, so these laws are not needed.

We need to keep our elections safe and free from voter fraud, so the ID laws are necessary.
If you can't prove who you are, then you shouldn't be allowed to vote.

Voter ID laws suppress voters and reduce participation, which is not what we should be promoting in our elections.

Should recreational marijuana be legalized?

No, as it is a gateway drug.

Yes, as it will bring in more tax revenue to the country.
The number of people smoking or using marijuana is higher than you think, so legalize it for the population that uses it.

No, as legalization would cause more people to use it.

Public spending should be cut to help reduce the national debt?

These public programs are draining the budget and increasing the national debt, so spending should be cut.

Some people survive off of these public programs, so we can't cut the spending to them.
People are still going to be making and spending money, even with these public programs losing funding.

There are other spots to look at cutting spending, like military spending.

Should employers be required to pay maternity leave for full-time employees?

No, but employers can give their employees the time off and they can draw on their own Social Security account to fund the leave.

Yes, employees should be guaranteed up to 12 weeks of partial wages during their time off.
Yes, as the new parents and baby both need this time together.

We do not need to introduce any new tax laws to fund programs like this.

Should we get rid of the Electoral College?

The Electoral College was designed to prevent large states from taking over small states. It's doing its job, so keep it.

Yes, no vote should count more than another vote.
The Electoral College gives everyone a say in who wins elections.

The popular vote should give us the winner of the election.

Is the press the "enemy of the people?"

Yes, as all they do is report fake news.

No, they are just doing their job.
No, as we need the checks and balances in this country.

Yes, as they all have an agenda and it's not reporting the truth.

How do we deal with illegal immigration in the U.S.?

We need to build that wall for a more secure border.

We need to come up with a way for the illegal immigrants living in the U.S. already to become citizens if they meet certain requirements.
We are a land of immigrants, so we need to open our borders and have processes in place to allow them to file for asylum or citizenship.

If they are here illegally, send them back to their country.

No, as businesses have the right to support candidates of their choice

Yes, as businesses should not be allowed to buy an election

Should Congress have term limits, like the president?

No, as this will deny viable candidates the ability to be on the ballot

Yes, as the longer these people stay in Washington, the more corrupt they will turn
No, as the corruption will still be there, despite efforts to limit their time in D.C.

Yes, as that shows a strong economy and more people buying into these corporations

We don't need to be funding abortions.

The federal money for Planned Parenthood is not used to fund abortion services.

No, as most drafted soldiers are not as competent as real soldiers

No, as this is taking away the youth of these soldiers being drafted
Yes, as it ensures national security with more people on the line

Yes, as it creates equality and diversity, as the list is everyone 18-25 and no one is left off

Do we allow babies born to undocumented illegal immigrants to become US citizens when born?

They will be crossing over the border just to have their babies now, if this is the case.

This was the country they were born into, so they should be automatic U.S. citizens.
Other countries have this same rule with no complaints, so why don't we?

It encourages women to sneak into the country and have their babies.

Why can't some black people get ahead these days?

Black people get into their own trouble, so they have no one to blame but themselves.

Racial discrimination is still an issue, even in this day and age.
They are the ones causing trouble, so why should we baby them and coddle them?

Racism is all around us, but some of us are too privileged to know it.

Should convicted criminals be allowed to vote?

Again, it's voter suppression, so stop doing it.

It is a right of every U.S. citizen to vote, regardless if they spent time in jail or not.
We couldn't trust them in society before, but now we are supposed to trust them with our votes?

They should be given a waiting period, as that gives them the incentive to turn over a new leaf.

To help prevent mass shootings in schools, should we allow teachers to carry guns in schools?

Again, only thing that stops a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun.

Teachers have enough on their plates, let alone defending their classroom with a gun during a mass shooting.
The teachers are given a bonus for learning gun safety and how to use it, so more money in their pockets.

You can't expect teachers to have guns on them all day in the classroom and no accidents happen.

Should a wall be built along the Mexican border?

Yes, we need to secure our borders and this will do just that.

Illegal immigrants are finding other ways to get to this country, so the wall would not stop them.
We need tough border security, and the only way to get that is by building this wall.

We are not paying for a wall that Trump said Mexico would pay for.

Immigrants are a burden on our society?

Yes, as they are taking our jobs.

No, as they are taking on jobs none of us want to do or are strong enough to do.
No, they are strengthening our society, as we are a nation built of immigrants.

Yes, as they are living on welfare and we are paying for them to be here.

It's easier for women to get ahead in life now?

Women have made big strides in the workplace.

Despite some advancements, there is still a long way to go.
Husbands and wives are both working outside of the home, so improvements have been made.

There is still so much inequality for women, such as the pay gap.
