About This Quiz

Let's face it — there are two versions of the South. One of the South that you see depicted in novels and movies. It's the tourists' South, where attractions like the French Quarter, Disney World and Virginia Beach reign supreme. There's nothing wrong with these places — they're actually quite cool in their own right — but true Southerners consider them just a little bit played out. They'd rather savor the lesser-known beauty spots.

Folks in Virginia prefer West Virginia's Harper's Ferry to Colonial Williamsburg, while people in Texas go to South Padre Island more often than they go to the Alamo. Graceland might seem like a music Mecca to folks from Maine, but Tennesseans are more likely to hit up the Stax Museum of American Soul Music.

Don't believe us? Then let us put your Southern landmark knowledge to the test. We've devised a Southern attraction-focused quiz that's capable of figuring out whether you're from the Northwest or were born and bred in Texas. Your knowledge of dozens of destinations will be probed, from botanic gardens to hiking trails to famous homes. Are you up for the ultimate challenge to your regional know-how? If so, don't hesitate — take this quiz immediately!
