Game of Thrones is an American fantasy drama television series which is an adaptation of George R.R. Martin's fantasy series, A Song of Ice and Fire. The show premiered in April 2011 on HBO and its final and eighth season is set to premiere in 2019. 

The series is set on the fictitious continents of Westeros and Essos and follows many different storylines all of which revolve around the Iron Throne of the Seven Kingdoms.
