About This Quiz

Have you heard of the Celtic languages? They include Scottish Gaelic, Irish Gaelic, Manx, Cornish, Welsh and Breton. Brought to the United Kingdom by the Celts thousands of years ago, these languages are still spoken today in certain parts of Northern Europe. In fact, there are more than 57,000 speakers of Scottish Gaelic in Scotland and over 73,000 speakers of Irish Gaelic (which they call "Irish") in Ireland!🍀

Most Americans can't speak either form of Gaelic, but many of them do have Gaelic names. Sean, Maggie, Ciara, Alan, Blair and Megan are all names with Gaelic roots. However, some Gaelic names haven't fully made the leap across the pond, due to them being perceived as too "exotic" or difficult to pronounce. These include names like Saoirse, Cairbre, Róisín and Eoghan — hard-to-say names that are nonetheless extremely romantic.

If you've always daydreamed about being part of an ancient Celtic culture, "Outlander"-style, then this is the quiz for you! We're going to ask you about your favorite Irish bands, leadership style at work and best physical features. By the end of the quiz, we'll have typed your personality and will be able to tell you which Celtic-inspired name would fit you best. Are you ready to find out what your Gaelic name is? Then hurry up and take this quiz!
