About This Quiz

Who doesn't love the novels of Jane Austen? They're witty, well-paced and wise, telling stories of stirring romance that also function as smart social commentary. We don't just love "Pride and Prejudice" because of Mr. Darcy; what makes that novel great are all its well-drawn characters, such as the charming but weak-willed bachelor Charles Bingley, dashing yet immoral officer George Wickham and terminally tacky matron Mrs. Bennet.

Jane Austen has a way of naming her characters perfectly too ... "Bingley" has a kind, cheerful ring to it, while we can't be surprised that Wickham turned out to be wicked with a capital W. So, if you lived in a Jane Austen novel, what would your name be? That's what this quiz aims to discover. If you've always wondered whether you'd be a proud Lady Catherine or a humble Fanny Price, this is your chance to find out!

We're going to ask you all about your personality, childhood and pet peeves. We also want to know about where you grew up, your romantic history and your current profession. By the end of the quiz, our supercomputer will have generated an idea of how you would have fit into Jane Austen's world, so we can let you know what your Jane Austen identity would have been. Ready to go back to the era of ballgowns and carriages? Let's get quizzing!
