I installed a horseshoe pit last year, and this year I put up a rope swing.

We have an annual baseball game for our family.

I left it at the office.
In my pocket, but my boss is at my party so I'm not expecting a call.

I forgot buns, condiments, plates... I'll just run to the store myself.

How long did it take you to plan the party?
I started planning mid-June.
We planned it with our buddies during our Memorial Day camping trip!
Since we do it every year, there wasn't much planning required.
I started planning in February so I could get the decorations and menu perfect!

We like to make our own show in the driveway.
We bought a ton of sparklers and pop-its!
We helped plan the town firework show!
We'll watch the neighborhood fireworks from my balcony.

My hometown
River rafting expedition
Camping on the beach
London! Why not, right?

Who is doing the dishes?
The children work in an assembly line to get the dishes done.
We'll worry about them tomorrow.
We'll take turns working on them at some point during the night.
I do them myself, in between courses.

On our patio furniture
At the folding chairs and card tables we set out

At my dining table, of course

How would you react to your friend bringing an unexpected date?
Introduce them to everyone there by name, and set them up with a glass of iced tea. They'll need the drink as everyone comes by to chat for the rest of the night.
Tell them to help themselves and make themselves comfortable! You made enough food for the entire neighborhood, so it's no sweat.
Welcome them in with a hug and a glass of iced tea.
It's a good thing I planned ahead and prepared an extra meal!

What vacation are you talking about with your guests?
I'm planning a long fishing trip in Alaska in August.
Our amusement park adventure in a few weeks!
We are going on a road trip through Yellowstone National Park!
I just got back from a resort in the Bahamas!

What will you do with your leftover meat?
Save it for sandwiches for the next week.
Put it in the fridge and forget about it.
Send it home on plates with our guests!
I don't save leftover food since I won't have time to eat it anyway.

How did you decorate the table?
Just a white table cloth and a few red, white, and blue carnations.
I spread out a red paper table cloth and some confetti so that there's room to play cards after dinner.
We spread our checkered tablecloth with three tinseled flower arrangements. They have tiny American flags sticking out of them!
I ordered a ton of cute, handmade decorations off the internet and filled the table with them. There's barely room for the food!

What is your ideal backyard like?
Nice and shady from the large trees, with a nice porch and room for the kids to run around.
Big and open, like a small football field!
I have a nice green yard framed by my vegetable gardens. The chicken coop is in far back.
The pool takes up most of the space, but what is left is either paved or very low maintenance.
