Founded by Steven Spielberg, Jeffrey Katzenberg and David Geffen in 1994, DreamWorks Animation is an American animation studio and subsidiary of Universal Pictures. To date, the studio has released 35 films, some of which including franchises like "Shrek," How To Train Your Dragon," "Kung Fu Panda," "Madagascar," and "Trolls." 

Their movies have won numerous awards including Emmy Awards, Academy Awards, Annie Awards and many other nominations. Some of the franchises have also had successful partnerships with companies including theme parks, cruise lines, and some movies have even been turned into television series. 

The animation studio may not be as successful as creating princesses like as the Disney company, but they do have a group of princesses that are just as well known as the ones from Disney. They wear crowns and are expected to perform duties in line with that of any real princess.
