The 1950s brought us the iconic "Lord of the Rings" (LOTR) trilogy that was written by J. R. R. Tolkien, a follow-up to his novel, "The Hobbit."  Director, Peter Jackson, turned the books into an award-winning series of movies in the early aughts. "The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring" broke records. It was nominated for 13 Oscars and went on to win four of them. From the beautiful landscapes to the powerful characters, just about every aspect of the film series was a magical recreation of the beloved books.
