Alan Moore and Dave Gibbon's "Watchmen" is one of the most iconic and beloved comics of all time. It was long considered to be one of those stories that would be impossible to bring to life, and writer Alan Moore has been notoriously opposed to any adaptations of his own work. In fact, he hates them so much his name isn't included on them anymore. Just look at HBO's new version, and you'll see his name is nowhere on it, only Dave Gibbons.
Despite Moore's lack of faith in any of his adaptations and people's belief it couldn't be done, "Watchmen" was brought to life on film and was met with a mixed reaction. Some people loved it while others did not, and it didn't fully follow the source material. Now HBO is tackling it from a different perspective. Not a remake or reboot but a continuation of the story — the same universe but a different time and place. Audiences were unsure at first until they saw it.
