About This Quiz

If you're familiar with Pokemon, ramen, sushi or the "Dragon Ball Z" TV series, then you might know a thing or two about Japan. Home to many unique fashion trends, technological advances and all the manga you could ever want, this country is constantly evolving within its environment. But Japan hasn't lost its roots either, because the culture flows through the food, drinks, Geisha shows and manners. And if there's one thing that really represents this Japanese culture, it would be the unique names of the people.

Almost all Japanese names have an insightful meaning, and some even have multiple meanings depending on how the name is spelled. Take the name "Himari," for instance. This name means "sunflower," but when you break the name down into its two parts, "hi" and "mari," you'll get these translations: "sun" and "jasmine," respectively. Or, if you prefer something more straightforward, you could always go with "Kaori," which means "fragrance." Other popular Japanese names include Haruto ("light"), Kenta ("healthy/strong") and Ren ("water lily/lotus"). So no matter what kind of name you currently have, it's time to take a trip to this "Land of the Rising Sun" to find out what your true Japanese name is!
